She thinks he's ok with it but that illusion will change when he has her killed. He tolerates her lesbianism so long as it suits him then she's gone.

I've seen a very conservative uncle of mine come to accept his gay daughter. It wasn't that he approved, it was that he had a choice to make; he could accept it, or he could lose contact with his daughter. Most parents will continue to love their children even if they are not what they might have hoped they would be.

In all seriousness, he (and his spin doctors) tolerates it as long as she stumps for him on the campaign trail, but will then meekly withdraw to the closet during huge political rallies (like the Repuplican convention in New York) and let the Republikkkan faithful forget that she exists.
