Is this enough to convince all of you that have been defending Saddam that you were wrong? Will you now understand that this war with Iraq was over more than oil?http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/04/16/sprj.irq.abbas.arrested/index.html

I told you that he had connections with terrorism. But the big terrorism thing that you all were whining about was Al Queda. Still no link there, never was, never will be. Every country has terrorists, and harbors them. Try looking where you live. Terrorists are everywhere.
DaveTooner

But not all countries support them.
And please Blib, don't spew shit. You know damn well we said there were connections with terrorism in general AND many leftists denied it outright.

I don't ever remember denying they had connections with terrorism. I did deny they had connections with Al Queda, the one the US was so big on.

If you paid attention to what President Bush said, you would have heard that this is a war on "terrorism", not "al queda". Hence most of the arguement about Saddam was about "terrorism", no "alqueda". Do you have selective comprehension, or are you just trying to baffle us with bulls@#$?

Ummm...the debate was over Al Qeada. I'm perfectly aware Iraq has been supporting Palestinian terrorism for quite a while by rewarding the families of suicide bombers. There's a Saudi organization w/ a similar policy.
You guys are being obtuse if you think the U.S. means to wage war on every country that supports ANY form of terrorism. Do you need a list of countries?

Please people, if you are going to debate this, then please use proper spelling (for sanity's sake): "al-Qaeda". It's driving me nuts with everyone using different spellings.
And one of the largest things Bush has been saying is how Iraq is connected to al-Qaeda and has been supporting them.

I'll start:
US
Britain
The rest of the 250 some odd countries out there.

Sorry abou the spelling borg. Al-Qaeda...
It is obvious that you capitalist pigs are the ones with selective hearing.

Yeah when the truth comes out all the leftists say "yeah I knew he was connected with terrorism all along... I only denied connections with al Qaeda!"
And contrary to leftist lies Bush did not only state connections with Al Qaeda but also terrorism in general.

It is, the enviroment is being ignored, tax cuts are increasing, the rich are still getting richer and the poor poorer.

We would have taken it? When? If you are thinking Gulf War: Episode 1, than you are a complete idiot. The US was not allowed to put one foot on Iraqi soil, their job was to remove them from Kuwait. During those 12 years? How, we had no reason, and without even a faintest echo of a reason, the US would have the UN howling down their backs. Not one time could the US have taken the oil, now is the only time.

Well, if we were in fact imperialistic as you have accused us of being.....then as powerful as we are," the U.N. howling(notice the spelling Borg?) down our back" wouldnt really matter to us, would it? Are you saying that a threat from the U.N. would deter us?

Spelling, yeah, I missed something. They US would never be able to, even with all their special technology, stand up to an army of the world. Anyways, you need favor to get anywhere, only brute force will never get you anywhere, you need alies. Even if they may only be a facade.

Don't talk to me about the first war over there you were probably still in diapers.
NO, I am not reffering to the first war I'm talking about right now. If you think that the other countrys wouldn't want to get there hands on the oil then you are an "IDIOT". Germany and Russia both said "If we go to war with Iraq what is in it for us, we want the rights to the oil" The U.S. said this is not a war over oil it is a war to free people from a madman. For this reason Russia and Germany decided not to join us in our "FREE THE IRAQI PEOPLE WAR" You are really a nieve person with VERY little knowledge of what reality is.

Okay, I just read the article, and the only link it drew between the suspect in question and Iraq is where he was apprehended. It mentioned nothing about any connections, even circumstancial, with anyone associated with the Hussein government. How is this proof that Hussein was harboring this alleged terrorist?

Munch, don't forget suicide bomber vests were found stockpiled in Baghdad schools.

Put there by whom? Can I see a source. And my comment referred to the article in question, which does not refer to any vests or schools.

Welcome, Munch. Nice to see someone new with a brain posting.
However, I think you're fighting a losing battle on the suicide bomber vests. Iraq has long been acknowledging its support of Palestinian terrorism by offering cash awards to the families of suicide bombers. The real question is whether they've been physically supporting terrorism against the United States. It seems to me that the answer to that question is "no."

Don't get discouraged, Munch, I'm working with Drew (our resident Administrator) on a new project that will (hopefully) get this site's "apparent" IQ up to around 120. (Apparent IQ is something I invented on-the-spot which is the average IQ of the board based on people's posts.)

What is this? Stick up for Sadaam month? He should have been proving to us he was not a terrorist and a WMD producer/distributer, not the other way around, as per the UN resolution. If the UN says it , it must be right, right?

Glad to see I was right about anyone who agrees with the left is smart and has a brain according to leper.
Its called the WAR onTError, not war on terror against the united states.

Is that right? I apologize if it was terrorism against another country that triggered this "war."
