"We have a president for whom English is a
second language. He's like 'We have to get rid of dictators,'
but he's pretty much one himself." --Robin Williams

What an idiot.

He should have just stuck to acting. Maybe put a line or two in his standup.

Well, Robin Williams is only telling the truth.

In his defense, he did go to Afganistan & a few other choice vacation spots to entertain the troops. This quote does sound like it came out of one of his stand up routines, and for all we know, may have been done in the voice of Elmer Fudd. If I remember correctly, he was brutal on clinton. I happen to really like Robin, as a comedian & actor, & would never take seriously his political commentary.

How the hell could you make a comment like that? I mean, Bush is a dictator? Give me a break. This is America.

I believe es347fan is right, I don't think R.W. would attack our Pres. It was probably part of an act.

Yeah, this is America. Home of the free & all that. Remember the right to free speech? You don't have to like the message or approve of it. He's not yelled "fire" in a theater, or burned a cross on someone's lawn. As far as I know, that's about the limits on restricting free speech. Oh yeah....don't get onto an airplane and yell: "hi Jack!!", that'll draw a whole lot of unwanted attention.

ES, please remind me where I said he wasn't allowed to say it? I only remember saying it was idiotic. Thanks.

I don't know if Robin Williams meant it as a joke or not, but it's still a true statement. Bush really does have all the characteristics of a dictator.

You seem to be bypassing something. Robin Williams is not stupid or ignorant. He isn't one of those who are stupid when they are not reading a script. He is one of the more intelligent actors around. And, I don't remember comedians NOT agreeing with what they say, joke or no joke. If they don't agree with a joke they have, you'll never hear them say it.

One question if he is so smart then why is he acting?
