View Full Version : Thread Killer?
Have ever noticed if your reply was the last one given when a thread dies? I always notice this, and I am forced to wonder, "I am that opinionated, dull, or unacceptable that my responses garner no further responses from anyone"? I have seen my response be the last here and on my local city page also and wonder if I am a thread killer.

The threads I participate in often end that way. I count it as a badge of pride, because that often means I won the debate.
I believe that people just lose interest and move on.

People will do anything in order to avoid the truth. I make the attempt to show them exactly what they are missing, how they are missing it, and what is causing them to miss it. Their side of the debate is fine for me, I already understand it. What they don't understand is other sides of the equation. I don't even hold sides to debates, I just find a bunch of pro or con arguments when I care to argue, and present them, applying my skill and intelligence to them.
They lose interest when they realize that arguing me out of a position is much much harder than they think it is, and when they realize that in order to continue, they would either have to backtrack and lose face, or continue hammering on the same points, a tactic I have much experience dealing with. When the standard debate tactics (based on propagating misinformation, emotional arguments, and fallacies) fail, they are forced to argue rationally for the first time. That's when people lose interest. When they realise that this debate thing is harder than it looks.

Jeez you are so full of it. If you were that smart you wouldn't be turning on tanning beds for a living. It must be time for us to read another excerpt from a letter you happened to write to a friend so we can see once again just how cool you are.
Either way, I still win.

Nappy, it isn't so much that you are a thread killer as the fact that long after the rest of us have read, digested and understood the topic at hand you are still struggling to figure out what it is about. For that reason you keep posting long after the rest of us have moved on.:drive:

You remember that the next time you are stuggling to come up with an answer to one of my insults, prescient questions, or just standard informative posts.
