What was your favorite part of the '80s? Which did you think was the best overall? The best music, best TV, best movies, just overall which part had the best pop culture?

Do you like the early '80s? The mid '80s? The late '80s? I voted MID 80s as that to me was the BEST (Commando in 85,etc....)

And since quite a few people feel the early '90s were still sorta a variation of the '80s I thought I'd go ahead and include it in the poll. Come to think of it,maybe I should have added in the late '70s too, since it was in a way a prologue to the '80s.

One more thing to add on: What is it about the eighties that makes it distinct from the seventies and nineties? I was a wee kid during the eighties, so I have no idea what they were all about.

I like the time during the eighties when I was born. That was a good bit.

Definitely mid-80s. The music started going south around '87.

Late eighties, definitely. The less eighties was left, the better.
Ugly dresses, ugly looks, ugly design, ugly minds.
If it was possible to erase this decade it would be great.

Early 80's after I got out of college.

I had a great job in high rise city environment for a couple of years while I was in training. Went to restaurants and clubs directly after work .....just loosening ones tie and ..........spending the evening with men and women friends dancing and having a great time.

I never got home before 10 or 11 at night .............and .....got back up and went to work the next day (I could not do this today .....*L*).

Then I got shipped out to the field ..........and ....I practically missed the rest of the 80's ......*L*.

I don't remember too much of the '80's. I was too busy raising kids and would have sold my soul to the devil for a good night's sleep.
I recall the music wasn't that good but i was too tired to listen anyway.

Late 70's when pink floyd came out and mid 80's when roger walters broke away. Mid 80's were some good times, I was hanging out in NYC, the statue of liberty was under repair then. It is like a world of its own, I met some awesome people there then.
and who can forget whitesnake?!?!

Being of age in the 60's, I remember nothing special about the 80's.

I'm with Dan. The best thing about the 80's is the fact that I was in my thirties and forties.

Late 80s. Came of age at the time. Got my driver's license and cruised everywhere. It just felt good in those years to start tasting independence.

You Too? :(

I seem to have culturally fallen asleep somewhere in the late 70's and didn't wake up again until the early 90's.

I spent from 78-82 in High School
82-88 in the US Army
and 88-92 in College

It seems like from 78 to 92, my memory is all in patches.
