Is it ok to make a prayer request here?

I hope so. I'm requesting that you would all keep me in prayer so that I'll be able to snuff out this smoking addiction once & for all! I picked Easter Sunday as my quit date for this reason. This is the day Jesus rose from the dead & was given new life & I'm praying that God will also give me a new life! One without cigarretts. I have smoked for over 20 years & have tried to quit so many times before. This is the quit that is going to be forever! With all of you praying with me, the Lord will deliver me!

It's never easy to break a 20-year addiction ( believe me, I KNOW).
Take each day one at a time and think of all the money you'll save!

Just what Dan said. Why wait to quit if you truly want to quit then do it NOW, not after you finish that last pack or wait for some holy day, just plain and simply QUIT!!! Sorry for sounding harsh but look at it this way would you drink anti-freeze just becaue you liked the color. Either smoke and don't worry about the problems you'll end up having, or stop smoking and breathe deep.

Good luck quitting sunshine. Being a smoker myself, I understand the compulsion. I'm not sure you will gain much by asking for God's help...he's not the one addicted to nicotine. :)

I agree. However prayer ritualises and formalises the decision and I'd imagine could make for an effective trigger or 'medium' for quitting.

Smoking is one of the leading causes of statistics.

I'm a permanately disabled person & I have a home-based business that is also very legit. I don't get out much so I thought it would be ok to make this my signature. Don't worry about your signature line Nina. The only things not allowed in a signature would be obscenities, pornography, or a picture that's too big. :)

Although she could tidy it up a bit. Looks like center and purple are working fine, but she has unnecessary text both before and after.
