I got an email that says this is the mark of the beast and is tied in with Mastercard.
I found this site that says the email is false.

For some reason, people seem especially paranoid about implantable chips. They won't complain about the government sifting through their library records, but will spend in inordinate amount of time worrying about something that will likely never happen.

I did watch a show where a group of folks did have chips implanted to shop at a certain store, haven't heard anything else about it. I personally think the gov is allready WAAAAAYYYY over involved in our lives now, but who cares as long as the TV works ;) I know if we went back in time and ask will this or that ever happen the folks from the past would say noooooo way, boy could we prove that wrong, hey atleast we got big screen. Is this the government screwing with or freedom of privacy, I don't know, heck I got cable and all these reality TV shows. I quess what I'm trying to say is that sh** will happen, but who gives a crap as long as they know "who's gona be the next star".

Dan; I didn't read the whole thing but I do find the # of the devil to be quite funny. I wonder if most people know what the real meaning of 666 was?????????

As long as it's voluntary. I'd have a real problem with mandatory implantation of tracking or ID chips. I just don't worry about it because I don't think it will happen.

======================================

I believe that it would be voluntary with adults alive today.

What about the babies born that parents decide to give permission. It could become an everyday occurance one day, another option like circumcision.
These children would not have given permission, but the parents did give legal permission.
We never know what will become an acceptable practice in the future.

People seem more adaptable to change(as a whole) today than when I was young.
I have noticed people being slowly climatized to change, some of the old timers on here might know what I speak of.

Back to the issue:
Lets say it is voluntary for adults, but it must happen with children, kind of like seat belt laws kids under certain age lbs ridding in the back seat etc... We all know the government has become the ultimate babysitter on other issues how long before they take this one over. People will follow blindly also it just depends on how well the idea is sold just like other crap.

Gov. "Oh Mam you will want this chip in your child"
Mam "What the heck for?"
Gov. " Well just think how easy it would be to trace your child if something happened?"
Mam "What makes you think anything is going to happen I am a good parent?"
Gov. " Mam lets be real kid crimes happen all of the time, maybe not today or tomorrow, but it will happen some day."
Mam now scared and thinking real hard. "Okay I quess your right after all you're the gov. and you'd never lie."

The rest is history, it passes in the house and becomes a new government money maker, once again sold by human fear.

I could definitely see a situation in which it's optional, but getting around in society becomes virtually impossible without it.

OR all they have to do is make it mandatory in order for your child to be enrolled in school. that's the easiest one they can use.

there are only certain lines i will let the government cross. this is one of them. and martial law. since fighting back is impossible, i will just remove myself from the system. walk away.

For centuries, people have been intrigued by the number 666, the "number of the beast" from the Book of Revelation in the New Testament.

Not only is it mentioned in the Bible, it has been associated with the Satanism, universal price codes and the game of roulette, as the numbers on the wheel add up to 666.

Now, the legendary number is getting a fresh look, as researchers are re-examining evidence the number may actually be 616.[[URL=http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?]article (http://)

Correction: there is no letter W in Hebrew. The sixth letter is Wāw, which is usually pronounced like the English 'V'.

But maddog, it is so convenient to have someone to blame when we have natural human desires, and when those random uncomfortable things happen in our lives.

The Devil made me do it!

It's allways easier to think some sort of bad influence ruled over those that do bad things. It's easier to except a loving God and an evil opposite. Humans have away to explain away the bad even it is not true. Better to make up a monster then to admit we are not the perfect creation.
