Someone sent this to me by PM. It is a 52 minute audio debate on Islam in the West.

It is loaded with informantion but it has some points that pertain to our discussions. One point is that they say the same thing that innocent said when I accused her of making a threat; it is not considered a threat.

Another point: Islam has no chain of command like the Catholics, there is no final source to say that this action represents Islam and that doesn't represent Islam. So anybody can grow a beard and be an Imam and claim that only he and his interpertations of the Koran is true Islam.

One guy says that Islam in the West should concentrate on religion instead of politics like Palestine and Kashmer etc.

One guy says that only in the West can Islam florish because in the Middle East there is no freedom of religion. In the West you can have a shiite Mosque next door to a Sunni Mosque.

There is some debate about whether or not Western Muslims should have Parallel schools or not.

So if you have an hour it is a good listen and it requries real player. I have protect x and it blocked 4 trojan horses while installing real player and everytime I watch the video protect x blocks another trojan horse.

This week, Amsterdam Forum focuses on the fallout of the row which engulfed the world after a Danish newspaper printed cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.

Two of the world's leading commentators on Islamic affairs join the programme.

They are Islamic scholar and author Tariq Ramadan and journalist and author Amir Taheri.

Didn't listen to that audio link you listed, but generally speaking, I don't see what the big deal is with putting the Shiites next to the Sunnis. The only real difference between the 2 is the debate about who the next "leader" was after the prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

^ that, and a few rules about certain things are different as well.

I didn't listen to the audio either but I do agree with the point where you said that Muslims should focus more on their religion rather than politics, it's funny how people who have nothing to do with leading countries or any of that have the courage to speak about politics while they have nothing to do with it! Forget about what the scholar said, he's there to tell you what's sinful and what's not, not to govern a country.

btw old-reb, I still don't see how that "threat" is, actually, a threat.
