OK ......I think I had a pair of these in 1967 ....*L*.

Essentially, they have very pointy toes, are somewhat loosely constructed, so the foot looks “flat,” and have really long laces that are looped around the body of the shoe several times.

Tapered shoes in general seemed to be popular with young men in Tokyo (a version of the 2005/2006 Prada shoe for men). But this elf shoe thing is a pointy beast unto its own.

Whats with the lace wrappin fashion though ??

I used to have quite a few pairs of shoes like that in the sixties. Always black. Never any other color. We didn't wrap the laces though.

HAH, what a bunch o' ole farts we have in here.

I wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of them!!!

We used to call them .........."Puerto Rican Fenceclimbers".

And ......I might add ...........at least we didn't wear our pants where our fat asses and fat waists hang out ......ewwwwwwwwwww .....!!

We called them Puerto Rican Fence Climbers too as well as Guinea Roach Killers.
