Take your choice. They were both bad.

Part of the greatness of America is the fact that we can survive bad presidents. Andrew Jackson was a racists who turned the White House into a barroom and introduced the Spoils System. Grant was a drunkard and involved in financial scandal. Nixon tried his cover-up. Johnson lied to get us into war. Kennedy was a disaster. Carter was a wishy-washy wimp. Clinton was a scumbag and a perjurer. Bush got us into an unecessary war.

The country has and will continue to survive them all.

Decka, do you mean Hoover or FDR?
They were the Presidents in office during the Depression of the 1930's.

Grant, tho, was in term during the Panic of 1873, when many banks failed.

Interesting historical footnote~~
Grant's first VP, Schuyler Colfax, was a Hoosier boy. Many Hoosier families named their sons after him. I havae a gg grandpa named Schuyler Colfax --. Cool name.

There , now you've learned something new today. Class is dismissed.

Clinton....I think he made America a laughing stock with all his lies. ...

Clinton's lies didn't get anybody (soldiers and civilians) killed, like the lies of the one we are not suppose to talk about, since his catastrophic presidency isn't over yet.

ĦĦĦOh God, you who rule the heaven and the earth, make 2008 come to us with the speed of a lightning!!!

Sure they did - like when he launched cruise missiles into Africa to take attention away from the Lewinsky affair.

[B][B]Grant was a drunkard and involved in financial scandal
The country has and will continue to survive them all.

Grant was actually a bad drinker before the war and occasionally during the war, the impression that he was a fall down drunk is contrary to many reports by people close to him. And there was a lot of scandals with his Administration, but he isn't really involved, it was more the bad people that he put into positions of power. not to defend him, just to enlighten

That is true, tho he had his faults, he was most likely an honest man.
It was his associates who robbed the country blind (and the same could be said for many Presidents).

Andrew Johnson - his many racist views, "the black codes," his method to veto any bill that came his way that was for equality for blacks and whites, his overall incompetence while in office, the OTHER impeached president, and basically destroyed what little prestige, honor and Civil War peace Lincoln had worked for so long to get.

I would cast my vote for Andrew Jackson...

Mckinley and his doctrine of benevolent assimilation follows..

Clinton's inaction when the terrorists first attacked and his continued inaction when they attacked the USS Cole emboldened the terrorists to the point that they destroyed the Twin Towers. Had Clinton taken a firmer stance rather than worring about polls and when he would next get his knob polished far fewer people would have died. He did the same thing in Somalia where he cut and run and the consequences are an Islamic regime being set up there as we post.

The bullshit that Clinton's actions cost no lives is just that, bullshit.
