can i link two pc's

i have an old p3 and now a p4 they both have xp the old one is pro and this home.

ive just had to go back to dial-up from broad band
so you can imagen how slow it seems now, so i wondered
if i could link the two to help the problem.

or am i just being stoopid.........

if some one could point me in the right direction i would apreciate it..........
