Why is the media portayng the "extended supply lines" as the end of the world? In the real world, if your supply lines are extended, that means you have been taking some serious ground! Would they rather have us 2 miles away from our supply bogged down but fully supplied? George patton outran his supply constantly and had to wait for the fuel trucks to show up.

This embedded media thing + the way the media built up the campaign has lead to a lot of double guessing.
After 9 days - much ground has been made. Some adjustments are needed & the military will make those adjustments.
The big picture is one of great success so far, with some challenges ahead.
It's amazing to see the rollercoaster media coverage.

Yes, the media is making it out to be "another Vietnam" (you know libs like to say that) when that is so completely wrong. They use misleading headlines to justify their editorial positions. Case in point: NY Times and LA Times.

Had there been media imbedded during WWII, populations would have freaked out. Imagine scenes from "Saving Private Ryan" or "Band of Brothers" or "The Longest Day" playing daily on the tube, only instead of Hollyweird's finest, it was the real thing. The media has long lived by the credo "if it bleeds, it leads". The media is not sworn ...".....to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth....", this is certainly not new information. At the very least, with western journalists what we're seeing is pretty much live, our top Generals & Admirals are in front of the cameras daily, telling all of us what's going on. We're not seeing the same level of coverage from the middle eastern media. Not even close. Those countries have never enjoyed Freedom of the Press, and probably won't during our lifetimes.
