How gullible can Americans really be?

I am a Vietnam veteran who is now flying for a VIP airline in the ME usually our clients are heads of state of African Nations.. I am based in Tripoli (yes Libya is still on the USA hit list). How can I do that? Because I have dual citizenship with a European country.

Before you start screaming that I am a traitor or something let me tell all the readers of this post something.

The Bush administration has been blowing so much SMOKE up the American people's butts its hard for me to keep my cool.

The average American does not even know where Montana is on the map of their own country much less about how people's mentality is in this part of the world. This is why Bush and his cohorts are able to BS people constantly. I feel safer and freer here in Libya than the USA even though their standard of living is not too high (thanks to Reagan ). Gaddafi (who we fly sometimes) has paid up 2 BILLION to the Lockerbie families even though he admits HE personally did not have a hand in it. He just wants the sanctions off and has LOADS of oil.

The majority of people I speak to and have dealings with oppose the Iraqi war and are starting to dislike the USA government more and more each day. First strike and INVASION is totally Un-American.

I still love america but am also a citizen of a country where I was born.
I went to school in the USA and served it in Vietnam with the USAF.
I am decorated and feel I have done my part. So I left and feel much happier , freer, living back in Europe.
There are so many LIES told to the people in the USA it sometimes makes me sick. Guys like Rush Limbaugh and other people that try to stir up the insane ramblings of labling people either ''conservative or liberal'.

The ridiculous ''commie'' behind every tree thing is alive and well, just check out Delphi Forums or some other forum that has made a religion OUT OF americanism. Thats not the America I know. YOU DON"T WORSHIP A STUPID FLAG!!! Thats very close to Naziism the way its going. Think I am exaggerating ?? WATCH!! Bush will try to take on IRAN and SYRIA next.. Anyone who doesn't follow the USA is the enemy.

so a guy goes to vietnam and suddenly he is right about everything? This guy is talking out his butt just like everyone else in the world. Quit posting this stupid crap, I can find a million vietnam vets and vets of every other war in recent times that support this war whole heartedly, myself included. I love how the left always drags out these leftist vets and claim they speak for all vets. Vets that hate their country (I know they all say they love it, but every leftists puts that somewhere in their argument) are far and few between, quit spewing crap already man!

Wilow - what you have posted is somebodies opinion - why not post your own opinions or comment on that opinion. The fact that they were a vietnam vet is completely irrelevant & is added only for effect.

any thing by those so called conspiracy theorists you would know that they are telling you - what you are too blind to see for yourself - namely, the truth. Conspiracies are the order of the day within the halls of your gov't. You just don't want to accept that, because it would mean that you would have to come to grips with the fact that you have lived your life as nothing but a tool.

Well I know every day that I wake up the terrible rulers come to my house, pick me up take me to the fields and make me work for 15 hrs. When this is done they take me to my tent and give me a loaf of bread. I'm not aloud to have electricity and I have no freedoms.

We may not have a perfect government, but it is alot better then most.

As I remember there were parts of California not so long ago that didn't have electricity. And f the people themselves are willing to make themselves slaves just so they can work their way up to getting some credit (cards) which as always, puts people into deeper and deeper debts and further enslavement, till they can't meet that mortgage payment they have been paying for the last 10, 20, 30 years and the bank siezes. If that isn't slavery - I don't know what is.
The only freedom Americans really have left is to vote for some corporate CEO or corporate owned lap dog, and to work like dogs all their lives just to tread water. If you had read the piece on what it means to have real freedoms like we once had, you would know just how many we have lost already.

I have a great life, have pretty much everything I want, live in a nice house, drive nice cars, go on nice vacations, am free to say & do pretty much want I want without fear.

If that means I have been an unsuspecting tool - then great - I hope that I can be even more of an unsuspecting tool as time goes on. Obviously where you live (dreamworld) - it isn't as nice & your life is filled with worries & confusion - sorry to hear about that, but there is nothing I can do to help your kind.

do you own your own home? Do you own your own company? Because if you do you are one of the few fortunate people. Most work for company's where there are few if any slots for advancement, and where once that company folds up people are left with out jobs, and they lose their homes. Once some one gets into that situation which happens more often then people know because the corps who own those co.'s own the Tv stations as well and don't report it - few people can get jobs when they have no permenant address. To know the truth you have to do a lot of reading and research seperate and apart from what they selectively chose to tell the public.

Really after your comment that the US caused 9-11 on purpose to create a reason to attack iraq - nothing you say can be taken seriously ever again.

And - regarding your point. The wonderful thing about the US is that it is possible for ANYBODY no matter what their situation - to rise to the top. It may be harder for some because of their situation - but it is entirely possible. Hard work = rewards & this is why the US is the most successful nation ever to grace this planet.
