My aunt caught wind that I haven't been well, and was phoning around for a couple days trying to get my mailing address. I haven't been answering the phone "not just her but most everyone".....Well it turns out she thinks the devil is making me ill because no-has bothered to show me the way of christ. She included a promise bible., and a modern womens version of the Bible. I wil have to include some quotes from her four page letter, but my gut reaction was one of the heeby jeebies. It sounds like in her eyes, my illness is sending me to hell, and I need Christ to get better.

I think I will stick with my therapy sessions, and my physician.

My mother told me people like this are exactly the reason she left the church. Unlike people like her dad who never preached he just lived the word, and led by example, and I will always respect him for that, may he rest in peace. I 'll get back later with the wacky tidbits from my aunt's letter. I was seriously disturbed by her suggestions.

I have a Grandma inlaw that does this to my wife and me. I know she means well but it does get nerve racking sometimes. Everyone has problems some worse then others going to church will not change that.

Lionel....It was just a tiny little thing with quotes that are supposed to relate to every one of lifes's little problems. You can go to the index ans say perhaps you look up....."jealousy" it will guide to apprt. quote. A fix all for life's issues i suppose. LOL

Is it too much to ask to simply tell people of religion you are not interested? Thank them for their well wishes and be done with it.

If they do not leave religion out of it next time, or want to persuade you against your wishes this time, then your health was only secondary the whole time and you dont need them in your life. Just my opinion.

Exactly.....

A nice get well card would have done it for me......or maybe a Walmart gift card or something.............

I just look at it like this..... she has probably been dying to do this for a while, and just saw her chance with me in a weakened state. Kind of stealthy don't you think?
