Al Michaels, long time play by play announcer for Monday Night Football was traded to NBC for the rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, rights to the Ryder Cup broadcast, and improved access to olympic highlights.
I have never heard of an announcer being traded before, although players are occasionally traded. I wonder if this will catch on in other corporations?

I'm glad that he won't be teamed up with Joe Thiesman, who's one of the more irritating announcers out there...he wouldn't get a word in edgewise.
I've heard that he'll most likely be teamed with John Madden again--that's good--They're a good combination.

Thankfully not Pat Summerall.
Mike Tirico, Joe Theismann, Tony Kornheiser (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2323121)

I like Tony Kornheiser...however, I'm not that familiar with Tirico and Theisman.
I hope Kornheiser will stay with Pardon the Interruption too though.

I think Kornheiser is going to stay with PTI when MNF starts. Theisman did Sunday night broadcasts, and might very well be known more for Lawrence Taylor breaking his legs in one of the most disgusting scenes I've ever seen. And Tirico does golf, and just about anything else ESPN and ABC need him for
