Which of the four sig files are you refering to? The first was the hitler pic. The second was the hitler pic with the offensive version of an old adage. The third were the words "heil hitler" as an html link back to the hitler pic. The fourth is the amalgam of pics of leaders I see now.

I wasn't trying to prove or support a point in this thread. I made a comment. That's all. I did however support a point in another thread (see below) that maybe you didn't read. And Hitler (the nazi) is nicer than me? Interesting conclusion.

You're clearly miffed about people reacting negatively to your prior sig pic of Hitler. I'm not sure you read my posts in the "Freedom of...what?" thread, you'd have noticed the progression of my reaction to your sig file. It started as a co-defense of a poster's right to post things that are likely to be offensive (but not illegal) on a public forum and the admin's rights to set the rules as to what constitutes TOO offensive or undesirable on the admin's forum. It progressed to being offended when you changed your sig file to include the quote "...jews in the chamber." I believe that crossed the line, and said so.

In your prior post, you claim not to have insulted anyone. I can only speak for myself and say that you did not personally insult me. It was offensive. There's a difference. But your sig file "quote", in my view, was not only offensive, it was broadly offensive and worse, suggestive that violence against the jews was good. The original adage "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" is a hunting reference. I cannot see an defensible argument in modifying that adage to refer to jews as the prey instead of birds.

There was a suggestion elsewhere to take this discussion over to the History>Hitler thread. I suggest we do just that, if it's something you care to discuss further. I'd be interested to read a reasoned argument from you (if you have one) regarding your choices in sig files. Also, I am not sitting here clenching my fists or gritting my teeth over this subject. To be repetetive: for the record, it wasn't your picture that offended me, nor your claim of being a nazi sympathizer. It was your words in quotes below the pic that offended me.

If you post in the Hitler thread, post in this thread and let me know. If there isn't a Hitler thread, start one.

If he wants to post a picture of Hitler, that is his right. If he wants to say he admires Hitler that is also his right. As he said, he doesn't advocate killing people so who he admires and doesn't admire is his business. Last time I looked this was still a free forum where ideas of all types were allowed. We have deeply religious Christians, totally committed atheist, gays and gay bashers posting here. I may not agree with Bit/Bytes's views but I completely defend his right to hold them.
