My fellow conservatives,

As I'm sure you all are confident, the US will find WMD in Iraq when this is over and thus prove President Bush right. I have long been looking forward to this as a time to say "I told you so" to the anti-American left. However, I was just thinking and realized that we will not really get that opportunity.

WHY?

Because, when we do say "I told you so" the left will simply come back with a conspiracy theory that the weapons were planted there by the US. Oh well.

of course they will dave, it is their nature, they will never, ever admit that anything we on the right do is right. They will always lie, for some reason it reminds me of that thing Rush says, "World to end tomorrow, women and children hardest hit."

If WMD are not found, my first reaction/suspicion will be that the ragheads got them out of the country and into the bloodied hands of the savage muslim tribes just ahead of the Marines' arrival. The desert is huge, and all that blowing, shifting sand hides multitudes of sins. I'm confident that WMD will be found.

I don't know who you're going to say "I told you so" to. I'd like to hear you find one quote from anyone on this board denying that Iraq has WMDs.

You don't have to bother if you don't like; I already know you won't be able to supply it. That's because you have done nothing on this board but argue against your own homemade ghosts based on preconceived notions of why people don't support this war. Maybe one of these days you'll be able to consider opposing perspective w/out dismissing it as "pinko" before you even come close to understanding it.

It's an interesting find today - 3000 chemical suits & stocks of atropine which is the antidote for VX nerve gas. They may have them left over from the Iran/Iraq war - but it also suggests that they have some involvement with chemical weapons. I think it's just a matter of time before they find them.

Yeah, even more interesting, I watched one reporter interview a female soldier examining captured Iraqi equipment and she made some observations that you would think the inspectors would have reported (or perhaps the press didn't report it?). She noted that all of the Iraqi weapons were old Soviet-era products. However, their gasmasks and antidotes were relatively brand new (manufactured in 2001 I think she said).

Oh really? I have heard plenty of pinko liberals say things like "we don't even know if they have wmd" or "Bush just hasn't made the case against Iraq" etc etc

They may find WMD. The question is : would the inspectors have found them if given more time ? I bet the pro-war will reply no to this, of course it will then be impossible to know.

even if they did find them, what were they going to do about it? lets say there were not 250,000 US soldiers sitting in Kuwait, would would the UN and the inspectors have done about it? COndemn sadaam?

Even war supporters like es347fan admit it's POSSIBLE that WMD's won't be found. That's a possibility that must be acknowledged, whether WMDs actually exist or not (The U.S. is taking a big gamble that they will be found btw....I'd hate to see what happens if they are not found). That position still doesn't call for "I told you so"s.

I guarantee they will be found. How's that?

Just how much more time were the inspectors supposed to have? Nothing effective was done when saddam kicked them out some years back. The UN caved, as ususal. The collected body of nations has no backbone, no taste for enforcing their resolutions. Kinda sounds like the french, eh?
