AMERICA SUCKS! Ask any (progressive) Democrat

Democrats are convinced that Americans keep electing Republicans either because they are stupid, or because the DNC message just isn’t reaching the electorate. How could their message not reach the electorate when the lamestream press covers their message daily on every front page?

Their message is out there, we hear it, we get it - it isn’t that complicated. Even my second grader gets it. Today’s DNC campaign platform can be summed up in two words… “AMERICA SUCKS!”

In short, nothing about America is right or good in the eyes of Democrats and their campaign message is, nothing short of a complete DNC victory can change that. This is their message… Everything sucks and only Democrats can fix it… We get it… We hear you loud and clear – like a broken record actually.

The war on terror SUCKS! Bush lied, people died, terrorists did nothing to us, we caused it all, we can’t win, Islamic terrorists are “freedom fighters” and American soldiers are “Nazis”. We hear you! We suck!

Our economy SUCKS! Matter of fact, capitalism and our free market system SUCKS! Capitalism only rewards those who earn, leaving those who don’t behind and that SUCKS! We get it! Socialism is better – we hear you!

Western Medicine SUCKS! Doctors, pharmaceutical companies and hospitals - bad. Trial lawyers - good. We get it! We have the best medicine in the world but it is too damn expensive and that SUCKS! We understand! Socialized medicine – good!

American Intelligence SUCKS! No WMD, no Bin Laden, torture camps and “Gulags”, NSA eavesdropping, no Geneva Convention for terrorists, no United Nations cooperation and so many leaks that information flows from our secret services like water through a kitchen colander. WE SUCK at intelligence! Got it!

Our Military SUCKS! They are a rag tag bunch of broken manipulated fools doing the dirty work of the Bush Empire. They are poorly trained, poorly outfitted, poorly led and poorly fed. Their spirit is broken, they can’t fight their way out of a wet paper sack and only Democrats can fix everything that is wrong with the military, its leadership and its capacity to win wars. Hear ya loud and clear!

Freedom SUCKS! Freedom is the basis of self-determination and if every American was capable of self-determination, who would be a Democrat today? That SUCKS!

Free Speech SUCKS! If it concerns religion or any form of moral principle. All else is fine…

Life SUCKS! Life is often inconvenient, always unfair and sometimes downright tough. We get it, abortion – good, euthanasia – good, life – bad.

The Founders SUCK! The framers got it all wrong with their silly God given inalienable rights, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Huh! Just a bunch of wealthy landowners securing their own dynasty at the expense of the little guy. Marx and Lenin, now these fellows are some real progressive thinkers who cared about the little guy. We get it! Socialism – good…

Justice SUCKS! Come to think of it, the Constitution SUCKS! We need Supreme Court judges willing to re-write the Constitution since the framers got it all wrong. The framers left so much out that we need special kinds of justices who will write-in the missing parts. The written Constitution – bad, the imaginary Constitution – good. That’s why Alito SUCKS!

Marriage SUCKS! So does the traditional family unit. Unisex – good, communal living – good, traditional family values – bad. Hard to miss this one!

Israel SUCKS! Hamas, Hezbollah, Mujahidin, Al Qaeda, all freedom fighters, not terrorists. Palestinians – good, Jews – bad! We hear you loud and clear!

Corporations SUCK! Driven by extreme greed, they plan and plot the destruction of average Americans; they rape and pillage our nation’s resources. Modern day despots responsible for all things evil in the world. Labor unions – good, corporations – bad.

Face it, AMERICA SUCKS! This is the message that Howard Dean and other DNC leaders have been peddling for some years now. We have not missed their message. We couldn’t miss it if we wanted to. It is pounded into the American psyche day in and day out, around the clock, news paper upon news paper, on every network news program in the country. Even Al Jazeera gets it, hell, even Bin Laden knows the DNC squawking points inside out.

Democrats aren’t out of power because we missed their message. They are out of power because we are sick and tired of hearing their message.

Two days ago, CNN/Gallup announced the results of their current nationwide survey, in which only 16% of voters strongly support a Hillary Presidential run in 2008. THAT SUCKS since Hillary is by far the clear front-runner in the DNC camp. 51% say there is no way they would ever vote for a Hillary Presidential bid. No shocking headline to most Americans, but it SUCKS!

Democrats continue to misread the public on a range of matters, but none more than the public disdain for Democrat’s anti-American message. Contrary to the assessments of Democratic campaign strategists, their problem isn’t that their message isn’t resonating. It’s that it is resonating, negatively! American’s have heard their message, loud and clear, like a broken record… They just don’t buy it!

People who believe AMERICA SUCKS will vote for any Democrat that runs for any office today. But nobody else will and most Americans don’t believe that our country or our founding principles SUCK!

Republicans are poised to win even more power in the coming elections and all they have to do is hand a microphone to the Democrats, sit back and enjoy the show. It’s Democrats who don’t get it and until they figure it out, they will continue to repeat their mistakes over and over, getting the same results every time.

According to most Americans, DEMOCRATS SUCK!

Are you sure you didn't write that Decka? It sounds a lot like one of your "this is what democrats really think" posts.

I guess if the extent of Democratic thinking is "America sucks", the extent of Republican thinking is "Democrats are out of touch".

Republicans have been "in power" for the past six years...apparently the answer to whatever problems we're facing now is "the democrats are to blame". Brilliant.

both partys suck, the only thing I know for sure is, no matter how bad it is under the republicans, it would be worse under the dems. while the dems gleefully rub their hands over GOP blunders and scandals, they dont realize that they are not automatically guarenteed to reclaim the government. after all, they are still democrats, and they have no plan or anything except "we are not republicans". the funny thing will be when they lose again next election after they think all they have to do to win is distance themselvess fromt he republicans. The democrats have not shown one single idea on how to do it better then bush is doing it, all they say he is doing it wrong. If a democrat came out with a good plan and backing from other dems, I may even vote for them myself. They are not doing it though, all they do is point out flaws, not provide any answers. In fact, the only dem we hear from is Murtha, he is the only one who knows what he wants us to do it seems.

You may be right about the Democrats not having any answers, but I don't think a person needs to know how to solve a problem in order to know that the current solution isn't working. If my house was on fire I may not know how to put it out, but I damn well know that throwing gas on the fire is a bad idea.

Thank you, decka

For posting an article that cuts to the heart of exactly what's wrong with the democratic party.

According to most Americans, DEMOCRATS SUCK!

I find this all so ironic. Here is why.

-Clinton was just in office for 8 years. Wasn't he a Democrat?

-And then the MAJORITY of Americans voted for Al Gore in the year 2000. Wasn't he a Democrat?

-The 2004 last election was the first time in 12 years that a MAJORITY of Americans voted for a Republican to be our President. But then again, with all of the fraud with the voting machines I doubt it.

So basically the Republicans just got, very recently, the majority of Americans to vote with their values. And it was only by 2%. Are you seriously trying to tell me that this is such a huge thing for the Republicans?

Also, yes Congress is run by the Republicans. But Congress was run by the Democrats for 20+ or maybe even 30+ years. It just shows things change and go back and forth.

Don't count the Democrats out. 3 out of the last 4 elections a Democrat got the majority of votes. Not a bad record if you ask me.

As for all of the "Democrats hate America" bit, well, that is just feeding the ego of the Republicans who like to think of themselves as "American Loving, God Loving, Good People!" and saying "Democrats hate America" just feels good. Nothing new.

In case you don't remember, Clinton won with a minority vote...

Second, you have no proof of this mass voting conspiracy. Only conjecture. If you had proof, Bush would not be President.

Third, the GOP took power in Congress after Clinton's first term if I am not mistaken.

Fourth, the party lines have been so deeply drawn that the 49 percent on either side don't even matter any more. All that matters is that 2 percent who are still on the fence.

Finally, Democrats do not hate America; they hate Republicans. Right now, the Republicans are the ones representing America, so it's really only hate by association.

Just my 3 cents.

Most of them, after all, have close relatives who are Republicans. I'm pretty sure I don't hate my dad or my brother, for example. Many Democrats are Christians and follow the teachings of the Great Democrat Jesus Christ, who taught them to hate the sin but love the sinner. For myself, I only hate the Republicans I know to be evil. Hating someone like yourself or Darth or Decka would be like hating a child because he is young. Believe it or not, most Democrats are pretty decent people. As are some Republicans.

Excellent point.

I was about to say the same thing.

I mean, it's true that I hate them...........but then, I am very far from being a Democrat.

And as for the article, while you can tell it was written by a righty conservative, i think there is some truth to what he is pointing out.

Your President Bush just insulted the intelligence of Americans the other day. He was giving a speech after his State of the Union address, referring to the need for immigrants and increased work Visas....he said something along the lines of, "There aren't enough skilled American workers capable of filling the available jobs in the U.S.". In other words, there aren't enough smart Americans to take the jobs, so you need foreigners.:D :lolhit:

Skilled workers do not have to be "smart" workers, that is not a reflection on the intelligence of the workforce. Ernesto Gonzalez may be more capable and knowledgeable about livestock rearing and so on, but John Doe isn't, however John Doe recieved a high school diploma and is trained for a large variety of other fields, while Mr. Gonzalez is greatly restricted in his ability to seek employment out of his lack of skills/education.

I don't think most Democrats think America Sucks. They are simply trying to fix the problems and mistakes of our country. In order to fix our problems you must first acknowledge them. When the President looks the country in the eye and tells them the War in Iraq was not a mistake, he is committing a grave error in judgement and adding to our loss of credibility worldwide.

The President in his arrogance or stupidity or <insert guess> after Hurricane Katrina gave initial support and congratulations to Michael Brown who obviously had failed at his job. When the President looked at the facts, realized this man was failing, he took a better course of action. Being blind to our faults and mistakes inhibits us from correcting them.

Democrats understand better the scope of our actions, and have shown greater ability to accept our faults and mistakes. They must first get the country to realize our faults before they can lead them to a solution. But, dear god, an inkling of a solution and a plan is needed. I agree, they are running around like chickens with their heads cutoff right now. But, personally, I would rather support a party that at least understands the situation even if they haven't found a solution yet rather than a party that ignores the problems, is blind to the impacts of our actions, and continually inflates those mistakes and faults through their arrogance, tunnel vision, and lack of understanding of our impact throughout the world and our failures at home.

Good summary conclusion. It's hard for Republicans to address problems of their own making. Sort of like asking a dog to clean up it's own mess.

Bush was essentially saying that Americans aren't smart enough to become skilled workers at any significant rate. He's got a defeatist attitude; suggesting that Americans can't be trained to fill the needed jobs.

I don't know about you, but the vast majority of jobs available, other than something like an airline pilot or a doctor....it would only take a few days of training for me to be able to do the job adequately.

If Bush created something such as a 5 year plan and allowed so many foreign work Visas to take American jobs but in the meantime, Americans are being trained so that at the end of the 5 years, no foreign work Visas are necessary.....that would be a smart plan. Instead, they simply have a defeatist attitude and do nothing about the shortfall of skilled U.S. labour in the form of training or education funding. He prefers to keep filling the void with foreigners and allowing foreigners to take the jobs that Americans should be doing.

As referenced in your first sentence, I truly do not think that Bush ever DID realize that the job was bungled to such a massive degree. He's just not bright enough to see it, and added to that he --like virtually every Rightwinger who has ever lived-- is a master at self-deception.

To acknowledge that there were horrendous mistakes made would be to place himself in jeapordy of being (correctly) blamed as being the person responsible FOR the mistakes........it seems none of the current crop of Republicans in Washington has the courage to admit they erred. EVER.

The Rightwing crowd in Washington perpetually try to pose themselves as having a number of desirable political attributes, such as courage, the ability to govern well, the knowledge to formuate a well-run military engagement, expertise at foreign policy, a well-supplied and run military, genuine concern over the plight of the poor, the elderly and various other underprivilidged people in America, a stern devotion to "smaller" government, to unfailingly acting in a "Christian" manner and behaving "morally", ..............yet, when in fact you closely examine the Republican's pretensions to possessing those above named attributes, you find in EVERY instance that what the Republcans ARE, and what they DO, is virtually the exact opposite of what they profess to be.

Bush can probably tie his shoes, but yes, he's an idiot.

Unfortunately, the people pulling Bush's strings, his handlers ---the PNAC types and their various operatives strung throughout all levels of the Bush Administration-- are extremely shrewd and coldly manipulative people, and yes, they have said in writing that they want to control the world.
