Unbelieveable. If you look at the top 15 or so highest pts scored in a game in NBA history, most of them come from a different era too...many coming from Chamberlain.

its impressive.. but hey when you shoot 46 times you are going to score alot...

lets break it down....

18 were foul shots, so that breaks it down to 63.

he made 7 threes... which is impressive, but has been done many times. So that breaks it down to pretty much 56.

mad props to shooting over 50 percent... it was probably his best shooting night ever for him.. but the WHOLE REST OF THE TEAM only took 42 shots, to kobe's 46. So yea i wouldnt want him on my basketball team.

It is interesting that while Chamberlin was scoring all those points, it was the Celtics, with their team play, that was winning the championships.

It also helps Bryant that Toronto is a pretty bad team. But this display of scoring ability is remarkable in today's NBA game. Defense is much tougher today, and if you watch the 90 seconds video which replays every point he scored, he was making whopping number of extremely tough shots. Shots far away from the basket, with Bryant fading away from defender's hand. Or splitting of double team followed by soft runner. Lots of tough tough shots. When Jordan was Bryant's age, he was primarily dunking.

im not a big Kobe fan, but they were loseing at half time. So he took it in his own hands to win the game.

I think that was selfish of him, even though he helped his team win the game.

Did you see the game? It wasnt selfish of him - his "team" wasnt doing anything.

He is all they have if they want to anything ,so he is forced to take it into his own hands.

I am by no means a big Kobe fan - but the guy is a remarkable player, and 81 points is incredible.

I am not the Biggest Kobe fan but that display was awesome I mean not everyone gets 81...Kind of a ball hog....Possible MVP....Oh and well it was Toronto bad team plus the new rules in the NBA actually makes it easier for a player to score cosiderably gaurds
