George Clooney and Matt Damon star in this December's Syriana, a political thriller about the oil business in the Middle East.

The story itself revolves around a merger of two oil companies, Connex and Killeen, an Arabian emir and his family, an umemployed teen in the Middle East, a lawyer investigating the oil company merger, a Swiss financial consultant to the Emir's son(Damon), and a CIA operative (Clooney).

It is a fast paced film, moving from subplot to subplot quickly, introducing characters and throwing out characters at the same rate. Highly realistic film in terms of playing out the story, but characterizations don't fully get time to show their stripes, and the speed and issues of the film may lose a great deal of viewers. But expertly filmed and crafted, not to mention good delivery by the actors with the well handled script.
This movie has hefty deals of politics about it, the subjects and avatars of the movie help play out a intricate web of thoughts on the situation here in the real world.

See it if you are interested in it, but keep in mind it is a bit more of a cerebral experience, all in all a pretty good movie.

Use the thread to talk about it if you wish, or ask questions :)
