To explain my political position would probably take more time than I could ever spend here on AllForums, and it would probably go right over the heads of 90% of the people here. Let it suffice that most people would call me a liberal. It wouldn't be true, but I don't mind being characterised that way. Why? Because liberals do it better.

Liberals have crazy fun parties where people actually get laid. Conservatives have to get married to get laid. Liberals for the most part actually care about people, and to quote Travh, when they are hypocritical, they help far more people than when conservatives are hypocritical, in which case people die. I just think liberals are on a higher level than conservatives could ever be. Traditionalism sucks. So does authoritarianism. I would much rather be associated with war protestors than the religious right. I would much rather have an oversexed lecher as my scapegoat than an ignorant monkey. And as bad as PETA gets, at least they put on some kick-ass displays with hot naked chicks.

Liberal chicks are nicer. They tend to be smarter than conservative chicks. (With guys, its the other way around) They are a lot looser, (not necessarily in a sexual way) and don't take themselves as seriously.

I think the liberal way is the way of the future. Liberals are far more open to new technologies and adapt to them faster. Liberals care about the environment. They don't want to see rainforest desertification and animal habitats disturbed. Sure, conservatives run the economy better, but honestly, I'd rather have green space around me.

Sure the Democratic Party is very troubled, and doesn't reflect liberal ideals much anymore. But its all we really got, dammit, and if I have to endure a term or two of Hillary Clinton, so be it. She can't be much worse than the last two presidents. I think it would be a lot better than having to explain to people abroad that "not all American's are like that asshole!" (which is essentially what the differences between the two will pan out to be, in my opinion) Liberals tend to be a little more politically active than conservatives, so maybe they will be able to keep the Dems in check in the upcoming elections. But if not, expect more of the same, with less war. Maybe the Dems will actually be able to balance the budget again this time around.

So, there's my thoughts. Yes, I am painting with a very broad brush, no, I am not backing my ideas up with fact or even solid opinion, and no, I really don't care. Just wanted to get it out there because I'm bored at 5:00 in the morning because I am usually awake all night, and not much gets posted this late.

Not aiming to start any arguments or insult fights here, and I won't answer any in this thread. Love me, hate me, I just ask that you do it well. Or if you really don't care much about me at all, do that well too. So tee off against the hopelessly inept, egomaniacal. attention-whoring liberal who dared to get his feelings out. I'm giving you free reign here, without having to worry about my retaliation.

Conservatives, at least the ones I know, do not have the capability of thinking for themselves. They need to be told how to think, what to say -- all the what/when/why/how's need to spelled out for them. Even when their behaviour isn't in their best interest, they follow the red brick road.

Sad part is ... they are intelligent people and nice people in general -- but it's obvious, at least to me, that their lemming behaviour stems from inner hatred -- a hatred they know exists and one they may or may not enjoy having bottled up inside. Either way, they let the hate-radio and FOX news types trigger their hatred which ever way they want, depending on the day and the issue.

Liberals always accuse conservatives of not being able to think but from my observation it is liberals who march in lock step. Wake a liberal from a deep sleep and he/she will invariably wake up yelling, fuck Bush, save the whales, abortion on demand, get out of (fill in the blank). It seems there isn't much thinking going on in their camp either, just a bunch of sound bites and slogans.

It's not uncommon for me to be directly insulted or called names here on allforums frogger. In fact, I have come to expect it, particularily from a short list of posters who seem to not be able to communicate without the insult-name-calling weaopons.

Because I didn't ask my 95 machine nor my 98 machine nor my xp desktop or any of my 3 xp laptops.

Linux does it better similar to the title of this thread (liberals do it better) Linux does it faster and Linux will still be fighting on the vanguard when your pc or mac is relegated to the dust pile of history and your machine will crash on average of 8 times for everytime a Linux machine goes down.

I would love to see how much real-time, user-time and sys-time plus keystrokes plus software was used to get the same results I did in less than 0.03 seconds.

Actually, I run some very sophisticated software on Linux and not just part time. I've been a Linux user for 12 years, back to when slackware was just about all you could get and it would fully load on a 20 meg hard drive. So call me whatever the F you want, including hip dude ... doesn't matter to me.

Most educated countries around the world are moving toward Linux, so I guess if they're hip dudes then so am I.

FWIW: Nearly every website of any importance or size is run on linux (or unix) as are most relational databases, especially if they contain sensitive data.

Best of all, even Bill Gates runs his mail server on Linux.

It's true. I just checked my uptime on my main computer the other day, because I noticed I hadn't rebooted in awhile, and I saw 34 days!

I'm just glad I have somebody else's XP machine to run my games on, my machine just isn't fast enough to play the latest games. Otherwise I'd have to deal with that claptrap of an OS on my main comp!

I think my next computer will be a Mac Mini
