View Full Version : A question about dreams, it's a different topic....

I thought that this was the best place to put this.
Do you guys think it's possible to dream about someone you've never seen?
I'm talking about someone you have never seen not on TV, the street, school, etc. You've never seen them.
It seems like an obvious no but I'm not good at remembering my dreams, so I'm actually 50/50 on this issue.
I just thought it's something interesting and I was wondering if it's something you can research.

Let me play devil's advocate here.
You ever dream about walking down the street or going to work on the train, bus, etc. Can you possibly tell me that you have seen every one of those faces, even if it was just an indirect glance?

I think your mind is capable of generating people from a number of set criteria. Whilst the original face may have come from a person you saw, you might have forgotten certain details so your mind fills in the blank thus making it seem like a totally new person.
Lucid Dreaming aside, Its very rare that someone will remember a dream exactyl detail for detail, so naturally when they try to, their mind starts filling in the blanks leaving you with a bunch of people you probably didnt see in the dream but are the closest match to the ones you did.

When I was 16 years old I dreamed of a woman, I spent a lot of time with her in the dream. I fell in love with her, so to speak.
I woke up and did a charcoal drawing of her.
Years later, I met my soon to be wife.
Before we were married I took her to my mom's home in Georgia.
There on the wall hung her picture in charcoal. Wearing the same blouse, vest and necklace that she had on as she looked at the picture. Clothing and jewelry she owned when we first met.
I had not told her of this or how to dress before we went on the trip.
At the time I drew the picture she would have been one year old.
The picture now hangs in our home.

Yes Loki, but such things have led to a sometimes uncomfortable lifetime of seeking.
I think sometimes a person is better off not to seek. Just enjoy life for what it is.
I know I've dreamt of people I don't consciously remember meeting, but chances are I did see them somewhere at sometime and my subconscious just remembered them while consciously I didn't. Dreams are tricky, who knows.
Welcome Blue!
Perhaps those people are generic amalgams of several people you have known.

i too saw my wife in a dream long before i met her. we never were in the same places over the years. did not hang in the same places and so there was no chance of a peripheral seeing of her. there is also a 7 year differnce in our ages.
i forget what it is called but there is a mind thing were it is believed all people go when they dream. pictured as an ocean. people float in it and can connect by it. and later see each other.

This is pretty wild, I also dreamed of my wife before I met her. I even told a good friend of mine what my dream girl was going to look like. He almost fell over the very 1st time we saw her{him and I met my wife at the same time}. There was NO way I could have ever met her we were 2,000 miles apart and neither of us traveled in the others direction.
