Hey, just wondering what games you're looking forward to getting soon. I myself have a list of games on my "To Buy" list.

Socom 3 - (I know it's been out for a while now) Savin up for that one, I played it at my friend's house and really liked it. The vehicle thing wasn't that bad either, sorta fun.
Call Of Duty 2 - My friend got a job testing this game and really liked it. (That's saying a lot since he doesn't like FPS games much.) Haven't heard much on it, but he said it's good. Any comments on this game would be appreciated.
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - It's a Legend of Zelda game, enough said.
NBA '06 - Never played this one, only read a review on it a while back. This game got my attention cause of the weird story mode. (Yeah, it actually has a story o_O;) Thought it'd be cool to try out the life of an NBA player working from the bottom up.
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Like Legend of Zelda, enough said.

Post what you're looking forward to, it'll make this topic more fun.

World of Warcraft- Burning Crusade Expansion
Gears of War
Civilization 4
Age of Empires 3
Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion
F.E.A.R.
Dead or Alive 4
Quake 4

...out of many, many more. These just popped up immediately as the most anticipated, not to mention some of those already have been released.

I heard that F.E.A.R. was good, but never looked it up. What kind of game is it?

FPS

Came out about 2 weeks ago, has been recieved critically. I've yet to get my hands on it, but it looks like quite a quality title.

You dorks. What I meant when I said, "Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - It's a Legend of Zelda game, enough said." I meant, "do I really have to talk about how good it will be and why I'm looking forward to it?"

Same with MGS 4, I said "Metal Gear Solid 4 - Like Legend of Zelda, enough said." and meant, "just like Legend of Zelda, do I really have to explain why this game's gonna kick ass?"

(Lol, I'm not that slow people.)

Ooohh, see im thinking I know its third person in Zelda but jesus i didnt realise the little guy was running around stealth like with a penchant for electronic gizmos and silent kills.

Yeh your right about the MG4, it will be awesome. Have you both seen the trailer? Judging by how old Snake is Im thinking were gonna have 1 if not 2 extra playable characters in this, with at least a couple of subsections where you control Otacons little wheeled camera robot thing.

Im looking forward to GT5, simply because i bought the logitech force feedback pro steering wheel and its kickass on GT4 so im figuring they will make it compatible.

Yeah, I saw the trailer for MGS4 and man... I want it, lol. I think your right about there being another character, I mean, he looks like he's going to croak.

And I just got NBA '06 today. (Can anyone say awsome?) This game's actually as good as I expected it to be. Mini games are fun, story is great (and original), and when I just wanna play a match quickly, I can do that as well. (Someone get it so I can actually check out the online mode.)

I am looking forward to the new XBOX360, and the games I want are Madden360, Oblivion, Kameo (for my son) Ghost Recon 3. Gears of War, Chromehounds, and either a basketball or soccer game.

For the PC I am going to get the Battlefield 2 expansion, the Rome Total War Barbarian Invasion expansion, and thats about it for PC for now. When that new Relic WW2 RTS comes out I want to get that next year, I cant think of the name right now.

I buy games for my grandkids rather than hope for them for myself so I find it a bit difficult to relate to the gaming culture other than its use of pwned.

I started with Pong way back in the Atari days and graduated to Legend of Zelda, back when there was only one legend and Age of Empires. Tried Myst and some of the Sims and just didn't like them.

Guess it's an age thing.

it means that just as powerhouse nintendo went down to sony when the playstation 1 was released, now sony will go down to microsoft in this generation of consoles. No company stays on top forever. eventually microsoft will lose top spot to someone else, just as atari did, and nintendo, and next Sony. These companies are all still around, they just are not the mega power console makers anymore.

I thought that might be what you meant.

If Sony can make a decent workable XBOXlive beating online service then it will stomp on the 360.

For instance, Im not buying the 360, not one of the launch titles is watering my tastebuds enough to even warrant me considering the purchase, where as the PS3 has already got 3 titles i cant wait to play.

AND, I played the 360 today on a game called Kameo: Elements of Power and the graphics werent exactly awe inspiring. Not to mention there wasnt a queue to play the thing and its a saturday lunchtime in a games store!!!

I realise there will be games ill want, Halo 3 but thats honestly all I can think of.

Two weeks ago I gave my xbox to a collegue at work for her son because I havent touched it in ages, whilst I recently bought the Logitech Force Pro wheel for GT4 which gets load of play.

Nintendo is dying and not even nintendogs is saving them :) but I refuse to accept that Sony in any way shape or form is going the same way to Microsoft.

Look at the PSP, Sony know exactly what sells right now and in the future.

Gran Turismo, Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid, enough said.

Not entirely true, XBOX360 comes out quite alot earlier...and the mass hysteria of the Christmas commercialism shall give it a boost that cripples the PS3 from the start, especially when their hardware is so hard to differentiate which is more powerful it won't be noticeable in the titles.

For instance, Im not buying the 360, not one of the launch titles is watering my tastebuds enough to even warrant me considering the purchase, where as the PS3 has already got 3 titles i cant wait to play.

Keep in mind that we Americans are pretty large in number and much larger in how much we keep in our pocketbooks. The US is the largest market on the planet, while PS3 may have titles that will appeal to Japanese and European gamers, they fall flat in appealing to Americans overall. That would be the major reason for sales on top of the timing of release even.
Your mouth may not be watering for ES4: Oblivion, Gears Of War, Quake IV, and the glorious appearance of Halo3 in the future...but many gamers across the Pond sure are.

AND, I played the 360 today on a game called Kameo: Elements of Power and the graphics werent exactly awe inspiring. Not to mention there wasnt a queue to play the thing and its a saturday lunchtime in a games store!!!

You're going to judge the entire system based off one *coughcoughcrapppycough* title? And i do not recall anyone lining up to play the PS2, XBOX, Gamecube, even the past systems of the PSone, Dreamcast, and N64 when they were about to be released.

Very well, then i can infer that PS3 will be the worst piece of a console ever unleased on mankind because of its very silly titles by using your logic. Which is faulty reasoning, because the PS3 will be a great system with many entertaining titles.

I realise there will be games ill want, Halo 3 but thats honestly all I can think of.

Then you need to get reading...head on over to a game site, such as IGN since you mentioned you like that site. There will undoubtedly be lists of the upcoming releases for the systems.

Gran Turismo, Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid, enough said.

GT, GTA, and MGS all were on the XBOX console, and there are currently extensive talks to release FF (more specifically on-line versions) on the 360. You don't think that series exclusiveness matters, money matters now...and Microsoft has the gusto and the wallet to get what it and its consumers want.

Although that is a funny comment, Nintendo is going to remain the "Nintendo" of the industry this generation. Their system, the ironically named "Revolution, comes out AFTER PS3, has no backwards capabilities like the other systems will have, fewer games (even considering no third party support, that's right...an entire system of a fat italian plumber and a girlish elf boy running through the woods together), weaker hardware, and no internet capabilities. Plus, they are facing economic problems from having to repurchase all their stock shares from the holers, the release of the DS against the PSP lost money, and "piss-poor" turnout for the Gamecube over the past few years.

Miyamoto must be heavily on heroin........
