Six GIs Killed in Iraq; 20 Die in Bombing (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051103/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq)

It doesn't look like things are getting any better there for the occupation. I thought the election was suppøsed to calm things down.

What do people think will happen in Iraq? Will the US be driven out? Why or why not?

Well gee Red,

The Iranian and Syrians are behind the "insurgency" and our Democrats just held a closed door session of Congress and then came out and declared that the war in Iraq is not going to be won. What do you expect would happen? :rolleyes:

War= death.

I wonder how it feels for the people whose entire political party's future DEPENDS on defeat or failure for OUR country in this WAR???

While President Bush made some mistakes, some of them grievious, the war has been won. It is the peace we are now trying to win.

Every time the Democrats in Congress whine about the war and declare we should pull out now, they give aid and comfort to the enemy. The insurgents remember how Democrats in the United States lost the war in Viet Nam and feel that if they can just keep up the pressure, the U.S. will once again cut and run.

Hopefully we will stay and get the job done.

What did I expect? That reality might crush neo-con fantasies of building an empire.

The US didn't cut-and-run as if it were a choice. It flat out lost the war in Vietnam. It has nothing to do with the democrats, just as the French whining about "betrayal" had nothing to do with their overwhelming loss at bien dien phu.

The job of building a theocracy? Yes, they seem to be achieving that wonderfully.
