I post on quite a few boards, one of them being an atheist board and while not all atheists, or even the majority of them are mean spirited and hurtful when it comes to discussing religion, enough of them are to be highly visible.

It can even be seen on this board where people feel it is 'sarcastic' to say God can suck their dick, or to make sexual jokes about Jesus, part of the Trinity to Christians.

Being religious, God in his various manifestations is very important to us. We consider him a member of our family. When you insult God it is we feel as you would if we insulted a family member.

What would your reaction be if I said your father could suck my dick or made vile suggestions about your mother?

Since atheists do not believe in God they feel it is okay to ridicule him no matter what hurt they cause to theists. This is an infantile attitude, unworthy of people who wish to be taken seriously.
