Sad to say, New Orleans is being punished by God... for Mardi Gras and all. It's becoming the end of time, more technology, more disasters.. Look closer people, all people - Even those who are non beleivers or non religious, etc.. We will be at the end someday. Anyone feel the same way about this situation?

You may be sad to say it, but I am not sad to say that you are a fool.

New Orleans got hit by a hurricane, not by God's wrath. It had to happen sometime.

But Mardi Gras is the big blow-out before Lent, so the omnipotent one is probably a bit grateful that the biggest day of the year is religion-related. If it is Mardi Gras-related 'debauchery' which triggers hurricanes, I think Rio would have been hit instead of New Orleans.

Rapid City, Iowa was devasted by deadly floods several years ago, when the Mississippi went on a rampage.
This area is quite religious--many churches, few bars, a down-home farm area.
Why did "god" destroy THIS city?

Maybe God is trying to tell those with man made religion he/she/it is pissed :D

I would say it was more like mother nature doing what she knows is right whether we humans like it or not.

Yeah, but like the Bible, the Qur'an, and all His other reprted attempts at communication, it's open to many different interpretations.

Oi! God! Yes, you boy, hiding behind the blinding light. Enough of your moving in mysterious ways - Get to the bloody point! Or I'll have to tell Mr and Mrs God that their offspring's vagueness and tendency toward tantrum-throwing is below the standards we expect from all-powerful universe-makers.

What did the people in Mississippi do to deserve this?

Hey Drew, good to see you back on

Anyway, this hurricane was caused by natural processes, not by God's wrath.
C'mon now, you should know better than to believe Sodom and Gommorrah's destruction was caused by God as punishment.

In Christianity, God would wait until people died to chastise in whatever manner. People can always redeem themselves and also God would not be spiteful in that record as to go and kill physical mortals.

Sheesh, its just nature doing what it does.

No and it is more than sad to think that anyone in this day and age could believe such nonsense.

I think it's more frightening than sad...what's more frightening is to think that the person who started this thread probably has a drivers license.

The end? How soon? Does anyone have the exact date? Around the 15th would suit me fine.
