Police chief- Lockerbie evidence was faked

A FORMER Scottish police chief has given lawyers a signed statement claiming that key evidence in the Lockerbie bombing trial was fabricated.

The retired officer - of assistant chief constable rank or higher - has testified that the CIA planted the tiny fragment of circuit board crucial in convicting a Libyan for the 1989 mass murder of 270 people.

"The decision of a former Scottish police chief to back this claim could add enormous weight to what has previously been dismissed as a wild conspiracy theory. It has long been rumoured the fragment was planted to implicate Libya for political reasons"

CIA planting fake evidence to direct the terrorist investigation at a group for political reasons...

But of course that would never happen today right?

Mr Guerilla, the Lockerbie bombing (and the subsequent, obvious stitch-up) pre-dates the 'War on terror by nearly 13 years, and dates from the time when Uncle Sam and John Bull were sucking every terrorists' penis that came into view.

The US is in its "global struggle against extremism." The US has always been in a "global struggle against extremism." ...

You sure are getting stuck on the phrase rather than its (the case's) implications.

But after the civilian airliner full of Iranian women and kids was blown out of the air by the US navy, the Iranians threatened to reply in kind - and the result was Lockerbie. Everyone assumed at the time that Syria and Iran were behind the bombing. Then Saddam invaded Kuwait, our Governments had to go grovelling to Syria and Iran as they were our new anti-Saddam allies, and - hey presto! - Libya suddenly gets blamed for the Lockerbie bombing.
In 1986, after some terrorists exploded some bombs in Berlin which killed some US servicemen, suspicion pointed to Syria, but they are notoriously agressive; so we bombed Libya.

Politicians taking the coward's way out is older than the Old Testament, and there is nothing particularly American or 'anti-extremist' about it, that's why I was surprised at the use of the phrase 'War On Terror' in the thread title.

Still, I'd like to thank you for bringing up the subject of the Lockerbie stitch-up - I think it was one of those court cases that made the 'if she floats, then she's a witch' trials look competent.

If Dunce Armstrong says it's his solemn duty to protect the nation, why does the gov't stubbornly keep fighting a deadly and unwinnable war or drugs, the other war of choice?
California, headed by Dunce's friend Arnie, will ease up on those who need medical cannabis. In your stupid monkey face, Dunce! He's a hypocrite, anyway. He used those party drugs while he was getting hammered. Is this the best we could do?
The American people will not tolerate a ham-fisted nanny state putting sick people behind bars! Stop the war on the terminally ill!
