Hurricane Katrina is heading towards New Orleans, it is a category 5.
They are predicting torrential floods and winds that will tear up the city.
Well, this can only be Bush's doing for sure...;)
Anyways....what do you guys think will happen to new orleans, and what will the fallout of the soon to be tragedy be?

The storm surge is expected to be around 28'. The levees protecting the city are only 20' tall. Most of the city is below sea level. Flooding of epic proportions as well as major damage from the wind is to be expected. I would guess something similair to what was left after hurricane Andrew hit Florida, or perhaps worse. I fear for the thousands taking shelter in the city. I hope they will be OK. It will be a long time before New Orleans is whole again.

I've been watching the coverage all day...and I've got to admit, it's pretty scary stuff.
This is def. the most rain that I've seen reach us up here from a hurricane (or probably any other time.) We were walking in puddles at school.
