On the grounds that he is in violation of the TOS and he is disrupting the forum by insulting everyone in sight, thereby ending most debates.
Mods, pay attention here, this is the democratic way to do things. (No matter what Tent thinks of the democratic way)
This poll will close on Sunday.

Take note: The poll will likely be shot down by Tent making a bunch of new users and voting "No". I believe the right way to do this would be to make a reply when you vote, discounting any votes made by people who registered later than Feb. 10th.
I voted "Yes".

Do you think that the moderators dare to lose AllForumsNetWork thousands of hits and all that dough? In addition to being ignorant and immature, you are mostly idiots.
Now, fyi, I do have a Website of my own, and have had several over the years. On these sites, ignorance is dealt with quickly and mercilessly. You and your kind deserve no less. Why/ Because you are blood-sucking leeches.
Wonder how many of you are on some sort of welfare?

:) Yep we make millions off this site. Would be nice, but this site makes nothing  - it's just for fun
Tent may have some extreme views but you got to admit he has well articulated extreme views.
For any particular threads that anybody feels steps over the line - just PM me.
My vote would be "No"

At least Tent has the resolve and the strength of character to go against the status quo

I don't care about Tentmaker anymore. I just don't read his posts. But I regret that most people here spend more time arguing with him than really debating. This forum has lost most of its interest. It is poorly moderated, since any insulting post should be removed, which is not the case.
So instead of banning Tentmaker why don't you just ignore him ?

Drew,
This site could be a money-maker of the Grade A Prime type. There is no point in running it as a charity operation.

Of course I voted that he should be banned. I just cant stand the long floods of boring information that he fills this forum up with. He has also occasionally threatened people, although he is really no threat, I think that really should be a reason for banishment in itself.

Yes - it could be - I have other sites that make money but this one is not really one that I think of as a money maker.
Astropol - you are right, it is badly moderated - I stand convicted - but I am the only one it seems doing moderation & I only have a certain amount of time. I guess we need some new moderators.
I'm willing to promote the board more to bring in new visitors - plus any idaes on changes to the board are very welcome

Drew,
Speaking from experience gained from several sites of my own, mostly let the site moderate itself. A free exchange between members is crucial to a site's health and life-span. The only thing needing a moderation's intervention are threats, scams, and abuse of children. Attempts to moderate the views and modes of expressions of members too often proves fatal to a site. Just my $0.02 worth.

I agree that moderation is not meant to censor views. I looked through a lot of your posts & you have to admit your views are mixed in with a slurry of insults from time to time.
So - keep up with the views & tone down the insults. The insults don't lend credibility to your often well articulated viewpoints.
Just a note though on moderation - I do not have time to fully moderate this board. If anybody wishes to be a mod then PM me.

Drew,
All my posts are straight-forward and to the point. I insult when provoked by veiled insults of the PC bunch who try to turn this site into an ideological sewer. They can't yet believe that this nation (USA) has now moved beyond the PC madness, and that sane people are trying to mend the near irreparable damage done by that poison.
What we have here is a group of members who detest fact. Some, like Astrapol and Allesa, even state that they hate anything that remotely images reality. Instead of ignoring the posts based on known fact, they choose to attack me for posting the facts. That was the same mindset of some former members. The PC crowd cannot stomach fact. It destroys their credibility.
The reality is that we are here looking at the WELFARE MINDSET. It is a LIBERAL/SOCIALIST agenda that has failed since its inception. I on the other hand don't believe that a government should support me and dictate how I am to live my life. Being a dog in a government kennel is to me the greatest of insults.

Ok - Tentmaker is not going to be banned. He has a specific opinion which is not all wrong (in my opinion) - just extreme, some people will agree, some people will not, but thats the nature of free speech.
In terms of the insulting nature of posts - yes they do tend to get a bit insulting & I take responsibility because I have not done a good job of moderating posts. As mentioned above - I simply do not have the time available right now. But, to clarify going forward :
- Any opinion is ok
- Insulting somebody due to their opinion is not - on both sides
The board will either flourish, or it will fizzle out - it's that simple, a main ingredient will be people feeling comfortable to voice their opinion. Neither side of any equation has an exclusive hold on the truth - if they did then there would be no discussion needed :)
Borghunter is now a moderator. I'd like to thank him for offering to moderate.
Thanks!
Andrew

Well, I see the logic in what Drew is saying, and I actually somewhat agree with it. I guess I won't try to ban Tent after all. However, I'm on quite often, and I won't put up with Tent insulting anyone anymore. But, the flip side of that is you can't insult Tent back, even if "he started it". So keep that in mind...
In fact, Tent, let's drop the "scum-sucking liberal" term right now.
"Judge not, lest ye be judged."

Sounds good to me. I finally put him on my ignore list so I won't worry about it anymore.

THE SCUM-SUCKING LIBERAL label stays. Idiots operating under that well recognized banner are still idiots and will be referred to as such.
BORG AS A MODERATOR OF ANY BOARD IS AN INSULT.
