Military Believes Insurgents Intended to Use Dangerous Agents Against U.S., Iraqi Forces

Ahh the irony. No chemical weapons in Iraq before the invasion, but now there are. No terrorists in Iraq before the invasion, but now there are...

Meh. $#17 happens. Still not enough WMDs, this is a pinprick.
We need to keep looking around for more. Syria is suspected of holding them, or perhaps there are more somewhere in Iraq. Or we could focus on the bigger threat of Iran. We attack both sides of them (afghanistan, iraq) then they begin a buildup of forces and start a nuclear program. Sounds like trouble.
If there ended up never being a huge amount of WMDs (or we never found them because they were destroyed, moved, or well hidden) that means we went into Iraq to stop a threat that was not a threat by its own means. But it helped shelter and provide for terrorists and stop a dictator and his brutal regime. Democracy in the middle east may have a domino effect on the theocracies over there.
So at least some good came of the invasion. (I know, I know, don't kill me for this being "not good" enough for all this money and lives, but i'm looking at the good through the bad)
As for the terrorists, many seem to have come from out of town as Zawahiri (the beheader of the various hostages) sold his organization to be a part of Al Quaida. So terrorists within and abroad are drawn to strike down american forces.
There were terrorists in Iraq before the invasion, just not as many and definitely not as many activities.
Overall this is still a bit of good news ;)

I doubt if the two are linked. The people who got rid of the Taleban, whom we called 'the Northern Alliance' are quite pro-Iran, and Iran (with Russia) was the only backers of the anti-Taleban forces before Sept 11th; so they certainly didn't mind the US giving their allies air support and deposing their enemies.
As for Iraq, they said they were against it, but now theyare an important player due to their influence over some of the Shia groups.
In short, Iran & recent US policy - they love it!

i am watching this report unfold on the news at the moment.
Apparently this factory was producing weapons before our invasion.
Apparently this information on the location of this factory was attained through terrorist prisoner interrogation.
Very interesting...
More to come as it develops. The Sunday or Monday papers will be able to have the facts hardened out and more thorough.
Let us listen in and pay attention to any further information to be released.

What are you watching Faux News?
From the article:
"Boylan said the suspected lab was new, dating from some time after the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003."
From gaurdian:
"Lt. Col. Steve Boylan, a military spokesman, said 11 chemicals were found in the hideout in Mosul, 225 miles northwest of Baghdad, ``which are dangerous by themselves, and mixed together they would become even more dangerous.''
Boylan said the materials did not appear to be linked to Saddam Hussein's ousted regime."

CNN, Foxnews, and MSNBC :D i have several tvs running at the same time on different channels
What are you watching Faux News?- Guerilla
Funny that you insult them because you assume they disagree with your viewpoint from what you've heard.
They have three major editorial shows every night:
On the Record
Hannity and Colmes
The O'reilly Factor
On the record- talks about court cases and stuff, worthless crap television :(
HAnnity and Colmes has news stories and debates and interviews held with Hannity, a conservative, and Colmes, a liberal. Can get funny :)
The O'reilly Factor is of course hosted by Bill O'reilly, he takes to no side but has traditionalistic views on social issues. But that doesn't mean he doesn't have his fair share of bashing either side. O'reilly thinks he is the best and is the ajudicator of all :/
Their other shows merely are like CNN, reporting stocks, latest developments in medicine, science, and world events. And media/sports. I do not view them any more biased than any other station.
Unless you actually watch the channel you have no room to talk if you are just told by your buddies in their little bushbashbasement (codename: kill dubya) that it is a radical rightwing radio/tv network.
