I wasn't sure rather to post this in the Movie Section or the Sports section, but oh well, I chose here.
At work tonight, we were talking about what was the best Sports Film of all time.
My choice:
A tie between Hoosiers and A Leauge of Their Own.
What's yours?

I'll put my two favorite sports movies also since they are in seperate catagories.
My fav comedy (sports) is "Caddyshack". I laugh everytime i watch that one.
My fav drama (sports) would have to be "Field of Dreams". The scene where Kevin Costner gets to play catch with his dad gets me every time.

Nice choices.
I expected to see you say, 61 or Babe or some other Yankees related film, lol.

I'm glad there are a couple more "Hoosiers" and "A Leauge of Their Own" fans out there....
and by the way, "Happy Gilmore"--what an excellent choice. It's tough to remember the comedies some time.

THE CLUB - an Australian movie about an Aussie Rules Football Club buying a star player who turned out to be a dope-smoking pseudo-intellectual.
Viciously funny and politically incorrect throughout, I loved it.

Hoosiers
61
Remember the Titans
Field of Dreams is my most favorite.

"The Natural". I can't watch that final at-bat without tearing up like a sentimental slob. Great movie!

I happened to watch Happy Gilmore today, and I found a whole new respect for silver's choice. What a great, hilarious movie.

If you consider Million Dollar Baby a sports movie, then that would be my favorite.

I really like the older movie "Damn Yankees". It remains the classic to be beaten in my opinion.

Well, all of it's main characters were boxers/managers so....I would def. say thats a sports movie. (And an excellent choice by the way)

In my opinion:
1. The Natural - far and away the best
2. Bull Durham - Costner's best performance ever
3. The Hustler - pool is a sport ain't it?

No votes for Raging Bull? Surprised.

Million Dollar Baby was overall better.
Plus i think Scorsese sucks at filmmaking, mainly because of lacking-in-quality plots. He hasn't won the oscar and i hope he doesn't, unless its a lifetime achievement type award.

Not the longest or most touchy-feely movie of all time, but at least this little short is a true David and Goliath story...
