A truly bizarre subject came up during conversation at work today. Yes, we get pretty danged bored here sometimes.

The subject was--if you were going to be executed, what method would you choose?

I opted for the firing squad. There is something terribly romantic about standing there , scorning a blindfold, smoking your last cigarette, and then saying with a disdainful smile-"Gentlemen, you may fire."

There's also a good chance that they might be poor marksmen and miss.

Another bored peson had no preference, but did say that he would want to eat a huge dinner beforehand, so the guards would have a big mess to clean up.

Interesting question. I know for sure any of the technical methods would be out. No gas chambers or drugs.

Beheading is quick if done right but sounds terrible. Hanging would take too liong unless the neck is broken on impact. A firing squad does sound more heroic, but I would rather they be good shots than poor. wouldn't want all four limbs shot and then have to wait for them to reload to finish the job.

Rather than a meal, I would want a bottle of very old and very expensive scotch and a big bud to toke on, I'd take my last swig, inhale my last toke and say what you would say "gentlemen, you may fire".

Lethal injection seems the most humane, but ummm being killed on a live feed from some foreign country would probably be alright, become a martyr etc.

Lethal injection. Firing Squad. Beheading. Hanging. Burning. Getting run over. Being thrown into a machine to be sliced and diced. Doesn't matter to me, i will die either way so the pain that i go through doesn't matter in the end.

But a firing squad does sound like a more noble way to die.

As for the last meal: probably be too sick to eat anything, so i would just drink some wine and say for my last words before i got shot:

"Wait a minute...did i turn off the iron?"

What method of execution would I choose? How about death by old age? heh, heh, heh, heh heh.

I don't know...jumping out of an airplane without a chute sounds pretty cool to me.

Great idea! Free falling is the closest you will ever get to an orgasm with all your clothes on and by yourself. It is uncomparable to any other experience I have ever had.

beheading. quick. sever the spinal column at the head. you may "feel" the cut, but only for a short time. can't feel the body struggle for life, and you'll black out either instantly from the cut, or in a few seconds from blood loss to the head.

other options are too many "fuck ups" chances to happen and you have to go through the possible suffer thinking, "FUCK!!!!" damn it! you fucks botched it!

uh, no it is not echo. there have been plenty of people who have done this from chute failure, no slow down as you fall because the chute didn't even pop out. a lot of people have SURVIVED it. when you hit. you bounce about 3 feet back up. then all your bones are bouncing and jabbing about in the body.

Yeah, most people live, I'm sure...:rolleyes: Odds have it - your ass is dead if jump out of an airplane at 12,000 ft. Not only are you dead, but you're speeding to your grave at about 124 mph (terminal velocity - basic physics). Even if you do "bounce", your organs are toast anyway, not to mention that you probably have a .000000000000000000000001% chance of "making it" without your chute opening. If I had to commit suicide, I'd take those odds any day.

It is miraculous how some people survive that, but some do.

Trees and water. thats all i gotta say. But that isnt a method of execution, just suicide.
