What is the purpose of those tiny little DVD players?

Spending all that money on something with a small screen that only plays DVDs. odd.

A notebook would be a much better choice, portable, thin, bigger screen and PLENTY more options.

sure a laptop is more pricey, but with all the more features it is definitely worth it.

I see this as a stupid thing to invest your money on. Don't bother, just save up for a laptop computer

They are actually pretty convenient. When I was on sea duty, my sub would be out for months at a time and it was nice to be able to lie in my bunk and watch a movie.

Plus I have kids and the portable DVD player is great on trips (considering that I would never mount a DVD player in my car...that's just dumb).

They are also not as expensive as you may think. My player cost under $200. Sure it is basic, but it works well. By comparison, my laptop cost me over $1400.

I have my own DVD player, thank you very much. I also have a 100 Watt home theater system that's computer/laptop compatible...I think I'm gonna be just fine for a long time...

...oh, and death to X-box.

I like my laptop. I totally agree with you. More options. I can play games, watch dvds, go online.
