Is it me or does television overall just 'suck'.
The popular comedies of the late nineties are dying out, gritty dramas are running dry, and we are slapped with a new reality show every other week.

I have never been much of a television watcher, i prefer other forms of entertainment, but i did watch the higher breeds of TV (the quality comedies, adventures, dramas) often.

TV sucks, if you think otherwise, lets hear it, defend your beloved crapbox

It's not been the same sense my beloved Boy Meets World hit rerun.

I do like a couple of the reality shows (i.e. Survivor, American Idol, and this new one - The Law Firm)

And theyre are a couple good comidies still own air: King of Queens and Two 1/2 men among others.

Fear Factor isn't that bad...
Charmed is starting it's 8th season in September!
TV rocks, dude!

Fear Factor is gross, but the girls are usally hot.

Charmed is quite the strange show. It has horrible storylines with even worse acting...but yet I feel compelled to watch it. They may have a spell on me..hmm.

Heh. I love the Charmed storylines. It helps escape from reality. And yeah, Rose Mcgowan's acting is a bit ick.

Holly Marie Combs, though (Piper), is great. I don't know if you watch the season 7 finale in may, but it was all like:

Paige: Don't panic.See? Piper's not panicing!
Piper: That's because I'm a good actor.

I loved it! Oh...and that season finale got me teary. It t'was sad indeed. They were like this _ close to dying.

There's lots of good shows out there. They're just so spread out you have to really search for them. If you don't have cable/satellite then you're screwed.

Eck! I think she's the worst on the show...and possibly on television.

WHAT? She is not. Alyssa Milano is! You probably just like her because she's hot...

I saw Boy Meets World...at 2am. It was the episode where Chris or whatever starts working with his dad at some store...and that one married guy thinks he's sick because he should have died like 5 years ago or something...

Re-runs of Whose Line?, Seinfeld, Family Guy, and Everybody Loves Raymond remain my favorite comedy shows. But as far as new shows, yes, they mostly suck. I've started watching season 2 of the FX series "Rescue Me", and I gotta say it's been fantastic. The new Family Guy's continue to impress as well. Other than the consistent quality of The Daily Show, I watch very little television these days.

Whoops, forgot a couple... I like Justice League Unlimited (excellent!) and Teen Titans (pretty good).

They're both HOT! But Alyssa Milano is only slightly better in the acting department.

Overall, I think that TV is in a pretty bad state right now and I blame a good bit of that state on reality shows. There were a few gems, like the first few seasons of Survivor and the early Real World (I'm talking old school RW.... the original New York and L.A. seasons), but overall, reality TV has brought the medium to a new low. I'd say that the low point was "The Littleist Groom" on Fox. For those who aren't familiar, a "little person" (male) was chosen to pick among a group of women, half "little people" like him and half normal size. I watched the first episode out of morbid curiosity but couldn't handle more. A close second would be "Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire."

Not to say that there aren't good shows out there. I don't get American TV anymore (I live in Japan at the moment), but have satellite access to a lot of American networks. I have been into "24" lately. I've had to buy the seasons on DVD, but really enjoy them. Well written and acted, in my opinion.

A couple of those are rerun shows....and you left off Conan O'Brien. If you like Jay Leno, you must LOVE Conan.

There hasn't been a good show on tv since Rod Serling died. I am sincere about saying this..my god, it's ALL terrible, with the possible exception of stuff on the History Channel, but even some of those shows are sensationalistic hoopla, not real historical facts. (Like the JFK assassination show implying that LBJ was behind this--where is the EVIDENCE??????
