Okay, who else use to love this show? I remember how excited I was when it first aired...the writing was so different...I get bored with the same boring drama show on every other channel.
Apparently season one was just released on DVD (I don't know how I missed it)...My friend passed this media player on to me because he knew I'd dig it...http://www.hyfntrak.com/3rdrock/AFF18874 (incase you'd like to see the fun video and see the other stuff on here).
So, who else knew about this release? Do you own it yet...I understand there are a lot of interviews and stuff...how does it rate??

I'm not a big fan or Third Rock. Actually, I'm not much of a fan at all.
However, I know how it feels when a favorite show is released on DVD. (Boy Meets World=greatest show ever) Although I hate to watch the first few seasons when I know what happened at the end.

I use to LOVE Boy Meets World! So that's out on DVD too!! Very cool...I really should look around more. I just have friends who keep me informed about what they think I'd like. I rarely get to enjoy hanging out at Best Buy in the DVD section (2 little kids)...

That's most likely a good thing...I always spend way too much money there when I do get to go and look around!

I love Charmed!! I'm not sure how it's become a part of this thread, but hey! Any word on extras?? I bet not. Too sad.

Well, we do have a Hastings which I tend to come out a lot poorer than I went it.

Hastings is worse, because they've got the movies, books, and music. The one near me has a really poor DVD selection, and it's more expensive, though.

It is pretty expensive. Theyre also tshirts, and dodads for you car (steering wheel covers, floormats, etc etc)....and its like 7 bucks to rent a couple movies.

I loved first season of Third Rock... John D'Aquino was so much fun to watch in his scenes with "Tommy".
Tommy trying to explain why he had been in a fight at school was hilarious. "I don't know, it's my first day as a Samoan."
As for TV shows finally coming out on DVD... I know exactly what ya'll mean... in some ways I find it even more frustrating as I went to europe several years ago and they had a bunch of our cool TV shows on Video (yes, this was pre DVD) and we didn't!
I bought 13 DVDs of Stargate seasons in Germany just before season 1 came out in the US! They are American shows folks... it was SOOOOOO annoying that America was either not getting them, or getting them last!
Highlander hitting DVD was awesome for me... I'd considered getting the videotaped seasons a few thousand times, but the cost always turned me off... now the DVDs are coming out -- and in my budget no less!
Ah... the joys of living in modern times! :)
(Forgive me... but I feel like I've waited a decade for some of these shows... oh wait, it was 1997 when I bought Babylon 5 on a PAL video tape in England just to prove to a friend that they had it and we didn't!) :)

I know what you mean about tv shows on dvd...it's exciting that we're starting to catch up. Charmed's finally coming out (how quickly did Angel make it on the DVD rack?)
As for 3rd rock's writing and acting abilities, I'd have to say I'm one of their top fans. Their ability "act" like aliens "acting" like humans, was just great to watch! And these first episodes, of course, was really just about feeling themselves out (so to speak), and it was a blast to watch!

I thought he was funny. Watched the show for the first few seasons but after a while it got old. Just like the 80s when they had Night Court and Empty Nest the first season or two was ok after that lost intrest.
Im more of a Married with Children fanatic as I grew up watching that show.

Married is great!
I can almost see what you mean about it getting old, but then again, not really...I like the whole run...I also have the same thought about Night Court...I always loved watching that on re run!
