XBOX 360 or PS3? Which will you devote hundreds of dollars towards and spend countless hours on

XBOX 360- Comes out several months earler, upgradeable hard drive, American developers (sports, shooters, fantasy RPGs) moderate size and mobility

PS3- Comes out later, slightly better processor but there will be unnoticeable differences with XBOX360, Japanese developers (Dance games, Platformers, Anime RPGs) Small and sleek design

And for those people who may want it

Revolution( which is not a revolutionary system, unless they mean a revolt backwards) Comes out even later, No third party support (only nintendo) no online. Smaller and very mobile design

Any of which would be a good choice, although i will admit Revolution needs to be upgraded and changed for it to stand a chance against teh power and affluence of the other two.
It really depends on your taste in games

Fuck I'm not (oh im sorry for the bad language) buying EITHER of them until they're UNDER 500 DOLLARS.

they will both be 300 (for the time, able to change between now and then). Games will be 60 each.

Prices will only drop from there(for the consoles that is)

Probably both, although just because of release dates the XBOX360 first.

XBOX 360 all the way. I switched from PS2 to XBOX last year and am not looking back

I currently own a Game Cube, PS 2, PSP, and X Box.
I have a Game Cube, only because my wife loves resident evil.
I think I will get the 360, and PS 3. I have no plans to get the new Nintendo machine. I think the 360 will eat everyones lunch.

Right now, the X Box is by far the best system. If you haven't tried Halo 2, you don't know what you are missing. X Box live eats everyones lunch right now too. You can't go wrong with the X Box.

UPDATE:

the XBOX360, arriving final quarter this year at around thanksgiving, will be in two versions:

$300 dollars with no harddrive and only one controller
(buying the harddrive and second controller later are more expensive than the extra $100)
or $400 dollars for two controllers (wireless) and the hardrive

Also: PS3 will support HD format and have backwards capability
360 will have gradual backwards capability as time goes on they have to reformat and you can recieve the old games through patches via online over time (HALO and KOTOR and several others will be on with the release)

how do you know all of this? the 360 will support up to 1080i resolution, which is HD
