Does anybody think Homosexuals should have any power?? Its obvious what the Bible says about them and if we supposedly as a country live by the Bible shouldn't they be excluded completely from society and treated like cancer?

there is a difference between gays and the gays that are spreading the aids virus around on purpose. being gay is just a sexual preference and an expression on the part of that person. if people want to be gay thats fine. if you are so into the bible you should know that it's not up to us to judge people. i personally know someone who is gay. let them be that way if they are happy. as for letting them have power?? whats that all about? what kind of power are you referring to?

Um, if we live in a country governed by the Bible then why is there a little thing called the Separation of Church and State?
Besides which, being gay isn't a choice, one is born with it. Can you choose to be attracted to the opposite sex? No, you just are.

you are right borg. i dont understand how in the world we could excommunicate gays and drive them away ya know? then we would have to excommunicate everyone........people who are racist.......heck there are people in prisons that murder and commit crimes that i would be a little more worried about than gays.

I know a few articles stating why we should be glad our government isn't based on the Bible!
Here (http://web.morons.org/article.jsp?sectionid=2&id=2756) and here (http://web.morons.org/article.jsp?sectionid=2&id=2770) and here (http://web.morons.org/feature/useless-commandments.jsp).

"Besides which, being gay isn't a choice, one is born with it."
This is only partially true. Psychologists have done identical twin studies to get some idea of just how genetic it is. It is not totally genetic. In fact, the cause looks to be mostly environmental.
Personally, I think gays make many choices. For instance, what makes most gays adopt customs of the opposite sex? That is clearly not something that's inherited. I would speculate simply from my own observations (granted, this is simply my statistically insignificant opinion) that the most flamboyant homosexuals are people suffering from an identity crisis.
Here is a link to one website talking about such studies:

And Borg, do you really think Church and State are seperated? Use that brilliant mind God gave you and look at History completely! Church and state are only seperated in words, not heart. THats why we've only had one Catholic pres.; theyre scared one would be obligated to take orders from the Pope. Tell ME church and state isn't seperate

Our laws are secular, that is my point (which you missed completely). I did not say that voters or our lawmakers aren't religious.

Seperation of Church and State were not meant as you take them. It makes references to not having a central state goverment.
Personally homosexuality is wrong, do I like it..no...will I hate someone for it? no...just as long as they dont come hitting and trying to get me into that crap. (no pun intended)

I really dont think our country "lives by the bible anyway". I know I dont for one. Dont get me wrong, I am not saying the bible is a bad thing, but I do believe in the separation of Church and State. (I had Catholicism crammed down my throat most of my life by my mother) I would have no problem with a homosexual being in a position of power as long as they try to use that power wisely and do not abuse it. (Although power is often abused by people, no matter what race, religion creed or sexual preference)

"Does anybody think Homosexuals should have any power??"
Homosexual should be denied the right to live. Any question of their having political power is moot.
"Its obvious what the Bible says about them..."
It is not obvious what the Bible says about homosexuals. The G-d of the Jews was permissive of homosexuality. Saul (Paul), founder of Christianity, was himself a homosexual and hated women. And though he spoke out against sexual perversions he failed to condemn homosexuality.
"if we supposedly as a country live by the Bible shouldn't they be excluded completely from society and treated like cancer?"
Who says that the U.S. lives by the Bible? Such a statement is rediculous, and probably came from the mouth of some wild-eyed Bible-thumper.
While I agree that homosexuals ought to be excluded from society, I don't agree that that exclusion ought to be Bible-based. In fact, I think that Bible fanatics ought also to be excluded from the society of rational people.
Both sexual perverts and religious perverts are a cancer on the body of society.

Well I just can't see why gays should not have power or be discriminated in any way. Sexual preference is a strictly personal choice and has nothing to do with public life. The mayor of Paris is gay and he's the best mayor we ever had, quite popular too.

Astrapol,
The reason gays should not hold political power is that they are filth and represent only 3% of the earth's population. Low-lifes like they are need be kept on isolated islands till an effective eugenics program cures the earth of the problem.

Tentmaker i laugh at some of the sh#t you come up with. B/c I mention the Bible doesnt make me a Bible thumper, but i do know what it says. You swear you know everything but in reality you just know enough to sound educated. Paul being a homo and hating women is almost the dumbest thing you've ever written. Before you make ignorant comments like that it would usually be good if you read the Bible, especially the parts were G_d specifically said that "...Men who lie with men..." are condemned to death, and Paul Himself specically used the word Homosexuals to tell of a certin sin. I'm no Bible thumper and you're not some scholar so get your stories straight...

JWJames,
Some here already know it and it will no doubt not impress you, but I have read the Bible on a few occasions. For, you see, I am an ordained minister who spent 12 years in a seminary.
Also, it probably will make no difference to you that I am, indeed, a scholar. The study matter: THEOLOGY.
However, I prefer practicing buying and selling, a philosophy which I developed during all those idle hours one has in a seminary setting.

Just asking because I don't know for sure. I was under the impression that in the bible says being homosexual isn't wrong but the act of having sex with the same sex is wrong?

RelocatedWitnes,
Ah! At last, someone who takes the time to comprehend what is said. Thank you for making the point for me.

Thank you for being able to differentiate private concerns and public concerns. The fact is your ability to function in society has little and probably nothing to do with your sex life. A small percentage of men are impotent too, but I'm not gonna hold THAT against them when deciding whether they would make a good leader or not.
We can look to the likes of Alexander the Great and Oscar Wilde and conclude gays have potential to be great, and thus deserve every chance everyone else gets.

"The fact is your ability to function in society has little and probably nothing to do with your sex life."
A wholly asinine conclusion. If it were true, then society would not be targeted by the gay and lesbian movement.
"We can look to the likes of Alexander the Great and Oscar Wilde and conclude gays have potential to be great, and thus deserve every chance everyone else gets."
Some choices to serve up as examples of ideal beings-a mass murderer and a sick Nellie.
