The arrant undemocratic tyrant had come to power in Georgia. All over civilized world the reflector of democratic degree of a politician is his attitude towards freedom of speech. Now look at Saakashvili! It looks as if the myth of independent Georgian mass media is destroyed.
Georgian president not only tolerate no criticism but has declared war to mass media. It seems to me that he decided to do his best for annihilating freedom of speech. Saakashvili’s begun a campaign which’s due to disgrace and to discredit Georgian mass media. Journalists are moralized and accused of breach of ethic norms and suffer other indignities. Many of them are already scared for their lives.
This lawlessness can’t continue. The journalist world community should come to the rescue of its Georgian colleagues and put an end to such harsh and unfair treatment of them!
