I imagine he'll need the $42k to pay his legal fees. He is so stupid that he advertises his crimes.

From stopspam.org:
The United States Postal Inspector's office Chain Letter Page has this to say about them:

"There's at least one problem with chain letters. They're illegal if they request money or other items of value and promise a substantial return to the participants. Chain letters are a form of gambling, and sending them through the mail (or delivering them in person or by computer, but mailing money to participate) violates Title 18, United States Code, Section 1302, the Postal Lottery Statute. (Chain letters that ask for items of minor value, like picture postcards or recipes, may be mailed, since such items are not things of value within the meaning of the law.)

In fact, your IP is logged, your name (unless fake) and address (can't be fake if you want the money) are right there, and I don't believe that our mods would be at all shy in reporting you to your ISP and the appropriate authorities.

I didn't know all of this was illegal. THe document made it sound like it was perfectly legit. I thought it was a good break and just wanted to share the wealth. You people dont have to get off on threatening to put people in jail, just tell them the truth in a way that they will accept it. So how can we stop stuff like this from actually getting people in serious s%^t.?

Not passing it on would be the obvious choice.

Oh, and if you find a post like that, feel free to use that link I posted, and tell the poor gullible soul that it really is illegal.
