Who cares about Dick Durbin? Do you know who should really issue a public and tearful apology while begging for our forgiveness? It should be whoever got us entrenched in this disastrous and unwinnable war of choice with no clear exit strategy while wholly and woefully underestimating the enemies and their resolve, failing to define victory and making our nation less safe and our citizens more prone to random violence.
And that's just for the war on drugs!!!
For Iraq, everyone should have fallen on the sword a long time ago.

Dont you remember at the beginning of the war there were the obligitory stories of 10,000 body bags being ordered, and then when we got to the gates of baghdad we kept hearing about tens of thousands of americans dead in the assault?

Can you name one person here who made a **10,000 body bags will be needed** claim???
Do that, and you will have demonstrated that you have a point.

I am simply trying to get a Rightwing dimwit to take responsibility --for once-- for one of his bullshit assertions.

Don't feel too contrite........the person in question will instantly hide behind anything or anyone available the second he is challenged on his preposterous bullshit.

He didn't say anyone here said it, you dick. He said the media along with the implied "certain libs" portion made a claim that estimated 10,000 troops had died at the gates of Baghdad. Sometimes you have me thinking that a nice rapid pistol whipping would serve to be the perfect attitude adjustment for you.

Ok.
A valid point.

Ok.
Let him quote a few of those "liberal" media outlets ---along with any of the "certain libs" here--- who asserted that an estimated 10,000 troops had actually been killed at the gates of Baghdad,

Just as a rapid course in critical thinking might serve as a possible attitude adjustment for you.

Hey, whatever it takes.
Just let the slaughter (and the throwing away of hundreds of billions of taxdollars) come to an end.
