Do you think there are such things as cures?

Well I guess that really depends on what kind of "cures" your referring to.

Our body has the ability to heal itself...it is meant to heal itself. But we have to take care of it and sometimes in order to be cured we need to seek medical intervention.
Other than that.... ????

I agree, but at the same time strongly believe in the natural cure, herbs and oils, things from the earth. Those are, after all, what our bodies were originally designed/evolved for. I think that a large portion of modern medicine, although much of it has been extremely helpful through the ages, does more harm in the long run. i.e. penicillin, ect. We put chemicals and pills into our bodies to help with an infection or a cold, but at the same time the "cure" weakens out bodies own ability to help itself.

Penicillin is a mold, thus quite natural...

That is true in some cases. Some people are quick to want pills for everything as a quick solution and it can compromise the bodies ability to heal itself. An over use of anti-biotics has also contributed to the existence of the super bug due to mutation.
However there are many, many diseases out there where the use of medicine prolongs life or makes one's last days bearable.
Pills are a copy of nature's own and while I would rather go as natural as possible because a copy is not the real thing... we don't have much choice with somethings. Penicillin is a good example... I am not about to ingest mold in it's initial state or ash bark for aspirin.
I am heavily into herbs for nutrition but one must do so cautiously with these as well. One man's cure is another man's poison.

To some extent, yes, especially when doctors prescribe unnecessary medicine so that the patient will shut up and go away. On the other hand, if the disease kills us, we're better off with the cure.

I have a really good immune system, I hardly ever get sick. Although when I do, I hate pills and medicine, and hardly ever take any. They have a tendancy to make me either worse or their possible side affects show up.

Ah, but would you rather have a bad case of the munchies and be a little...slow than rashes, ringing in the ears, headaches, dizziness, drowsiness, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, heartburn, ulceration of the stomach or intestine, kidney failure, heart failure, death, ect, ect, ect?
I totally agree that modern medicine is necessary in cases of serious illnesses, but as children doctors pump full of so much crap that by the time were older our bodies don't even remember how to protect its self.
Take a look at the commercials on TV...Here, take this pill for this(you can go all night!)....but you'll need twenty other different pills to counteract the side effects of pill #1.
Crazy.
