Yes, another important law that needs to take effect immediately. On one hand, Republicans laugh at the idea that it takes a village to raise a child. But on the other hand parents apparently can't be trusted to do it correctly either.
How much porn is actually located on servers in the U.S. anyway?

Porn is low class. Everybody knows that repressed elitist politicians prefer hookers. C'mon and get with the program already (and always pay in cash).

yes, being able to look at porn and burnthe flag, thats what we really need to protect. I am sure the founding fathers set out just to ensure those things went unharmed.

Yeah, what we need is the government running every aspect of our lives for us. What are you, a liberal?

Excellent question. Trav, how can you put up with this?

I just feel people are taking the constitution and its freedoms and defending absolute crap with them. porn and flag desecration? come on. They think the constitution is a bullet proof shield to hide their perverted and anti American activities behind. Just becuase you can do some things doesnt mean you should. WE all know damn well the founding fathers didnt fight the british to let some pervert look at porn in a fucking library.
and as much resistance I have to the slippery slope argument with gay marriage I don't want to hear someone argue that if we outlaw flag burning that somehow we will wind up in gas chambers after that.

Bwhahahaaa. I'd say theres something distinctly anti-american in your post and it sure doesn't have to do with burning flags. Funny trav, you risked your life because you thought you loved freedom. Turns out you only love yourself and think everyone else should adhere to what you believe. Just cause you don't like porn or flag burning doesn't mean that other people don't have an explicit right to do whatever the hell they feel like doing so long as it doesn't impinge on anothers ability to do the same. Why do you hate freedom so much?

I wouldn't make that leap, but at least you've come around to see how ridiculous slippery slope argument are.

Great point. In fact, I think this is the point to this whole topic.

True, but Trav, if we don't let certain dumb ass American citizens burn the flag, then what does that say about us? The same can be said for porn, minus the “dumb ass” part. That's not what America's about, is it? It's perfectly fine not to like it, hell, I hate it, but we can't set that precedent if we don't want to look like a bunch of hypocrites in the process. We already live in a police state, so lets not give the government any more power than they already have. Obey the law, but please, for the love of god, respect our freedoms (no matter how trivial you think they are).

I don't think there is such thing as a trivial freedom. Regardless of how little some people care about that freedom, the government should not be stomping it. The government shouldn't step over any freedom, they're all important. I think the founders of this country understood that, and that is why the constitution is worded as it is and why so many "trivial" freedoms can be considered to be protected by it.

Thats a better philosophy than "if I don't like it, then you can't do it".

As much as it pains me to say this - I agree with you.
