I just feel people are taking the constitution and its freedoms and defending absolute crap with them. porn and flag desecration? come on. True, but Trav, if we don't let certain dumb ass American citizens burn the flag, then what does that say about us? The same can be said for porn, minus the “dumb ass” part. That's not what America's about, is it? It's perfectly fine not to like it, hell, I hate it, but we can't set that precedent if we don't want to look like a bunch of hypocrites in the process. We already live in a police state, so lets not give the government any more power than they already have. Obey the law, but please, for the love of god, respect our freedoms (no matter how trivial you think they are).

I don't think there is such thing as a trivial freedom. Regardless of how little some people care about that freedom, the government should not be stomping it. The government shouldn't step over any freedom, they're all important. I think the founders of this country understood that, and that is why the constitution is worded as it is and why so many "trivial" freedoms can be considered to be protected by it.
