View Full Version : Coca~Cola Vs. Pepsi!

My personal choice is Coca~Cola. My family is obsessed with Coke. We have Coke stuff all around our house and a Christmas Coke Mini-Town that we put all around our house for X-Mas, we also have Coke Santas, old-fashioned bottles, signs, shirts, everything! The reason we are so crazy for Coke is because my grandmother really loved Coca-Cola and she passed away a few years ago and we have since then been dedicated to the Coke company. Whenever we go to a place that serves Pepsi, we complain and just get water. Haha, that's always fun to do.
To be honest, I hate Pepsi! Firstly, Coke came out with Diet, Cherry, Lemon, Vanilla, the twists, and Lime first. Pepsi tends to usually copy Coca-Cola, which is rather stupid.
Plus, I like the taste better! And the logo is prettier, Pepsi just the sound of it, and the logo just looks white-trash to me.
And out of the most well-known companies in the world Coke is #2, while Pepsi is #200.
Oh and!
Coca-Cola ended 2004 as the leader in market share, with Coke Classic as the No. 1 carbonated soft drink in the United States.

Well, I don't drink pop at all, I drink water, but if I had to pick between Coke and Pepsi, I would pick Pepsi. I really don't have a reason.

I drink Mountain Dew(I like Code Red more, it has more flavour when it starts to go flat), IBC Root Beer(and A&W Root Beer from one of their resturants), Ginger Ale(Seagrams), and tea, lots and lots and lots of tea, tea is good... I perfer Pepsi because it's sweeter, Coke is dull and boring and all of their specialized ones don't taste as good as the Pepsi ones.

Coke, Dr. Pepper and A&W rootbeer... but they have to be diet...the other's too sweet...gonna let the aspartame kill me....
And tea, with raw sugar......Yeeeeeeeeeesssssssssss!!!!

I like my diet cokes ... in all flavors ... cherry & vanilla being favorites. Diet Dr. Pepper & its' variants are good as well. When drinking iced tea, it's got to be fresh made & unsweetened.

I drink Mt. Dew, but I definitely prefer Coke to Pepsi.
My brother was just in Mexico - apparently the Coke there is actually true to the original recipe in that they use sugar. American Coke uses corn syrup or something like that instead. He said you can definitely taste the difference.

Yep. Cane sugar Coke is way different.
As for sodas, I prefer Pepsi. IBC Root Beer is great too, but one problem: no caffeine!

If Coke A sells well, wouldn't it simply be good business to make Pepsi A to compete?
Btw, Pepsi did not copy: Crystal Pepsi, Mountain Dew Code Red, Mountain Dew Livewire (awesome), Mountain Dew Pitch Black (sucked), Pepsi Blue (tasted like ass dipped in more ass).

Diet Soda is actually pretty groovy. I used to think it was icky, but now, I don't mind it. I do, in fact, prefer Coke. Something's up with Pepsi. It just tastes funny...and who the fuck is Dr. Wells? I mean, I can understand Pepper, but Wells?

Wait, wouldnt the orginal recepie for Coca Cola involve cocaine? That oughtta give you quite a buzz.
Btw, Root Beer rocks, but Coke is better than Pepsi.
A side note, do you know why pepsi always wins the pepsi challenge? It's not rigged, it's just that a sip of pepsi tastes better than a sip of coke, but a can of coke tastes better than a can of pepsi.

Or maybe taste is just subjective? You're awfully arrogant to assume that just because you like Coke, it must automatically be "better".

It just shows that Pepsi isn't willing to take risks and is always the follower. And that in itself makes it not respectable in my eyes.
Crystal Pepsi, Mountain Dew Code Red, Mountain Dew Livewire (awesome), Mountain Dew Pitch Black (sucked), Pepsi Blue (tasted like ass dipped in more ass).
You didn't see Coke come out with "Crystal Coke", "Pitch Black Coke" or "Coke Blue", now did you? Because Coke is unique in comparison to Pepsi. But Mountain Dew was created after Surge, which Coca-Cola had. But all the new things from Mountain Dew, Coke did not copy.

...
"Surge is the name of a citrus soft drink first introduced in Norway under the name Urge by the Coca-Cola Company in 1996 to compete with Pepsi's Mountain Dew. It became very popular in Norway so the next year Coca-Cola decided to start making it in USA under the name Surge, and in Denmark and Sweden as Urge."
"Mountain Dew is a citrus flavored soft drink, produced by PepsiCo. It was first marketed locally in 1948 and across the United States in 1964."

You're probably right. But the original is not always better. Case in point: Intel vs. AMD.

From what I can remember, Crystal Pepsi wasn't too bad. Anybody remember Jolt? Or Surge? Or Orbitz?

I must be the only one who LOVED Pepsi Blue. I thought it tasted like carbonated gummi bears.
I remember when it first came out, we had a entire soda machine of Pepsi Blue at school. I think I drank more of it than everybody else.

Ahhh is this really OD or some crazy clone? Because you're basically the last person I'd expect to be totally obsessed in such a manner with a multinational bastion of corporate capitalism.
Personally, I never drink soda, with the rare exception of ginger ale. Usually it's only water or seltzer for me, and sometimes juice, but I drink it mainly for the vitamin C.

Just a few interesting facts.
Soda - (coke, pepsi) has a PH of 2.8 . This used to be considered a hazard for human consumption. This was changed so they wouldn't have to put a biohazard symbol on the can. (if someone can verify this it'd be great I learned about it from an advanced biology class)
A blind taste test showed the 75% of people couldn't tell teh difference between coke and pepsi. But when they were told which was which they over whelmingly chose the coke. Most of its psycological.
I used to drink tons of soda. I pretty much avoid it now unless I'm eating something extremely spicey.
