What are Karma's supposed to be?

I have 43 Karma points I think.

See the little green things under the user title? That is your publicly sen karma. It is used so people knows who to take seriously and who to think a stupid pointless person, the darker your karma and closer to red, means people disagree with their posts, the more green you have means the more eople agree with you :)

Click on someone elses karma and vote on them

you can see recent comments (or just positive(green) or negative(red) karma points in your control panel...)

black or gray karma is bad karma, but dont worry too much about it, Because we are still new, and we have yet to really need a big thing for the karma, it just looks really awesome to me :)

If someone votes bad and then someone votes good for you it turns out to be even - grey..
