View Full Version : Robertson: Judges worse than Al Qaeda

Federal judges are a more serious threat to America than Al Qaeda and the Sept. 11 terrorists, the Rev. Pat Robertson claimed yesterday.
"Over 100 years, I think the gradual erosion of the consensus that's held our country together is probably more serious than a few bearded terrorists who fly into buildings," Robertson said on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."
"I think we have controlled Al Qaeda," the 700 Club host said, but warned of "erosion at home" and said judges were creating a "tyranny of oligarchy."
Confronted by Stephanopoulos on his claims that an out-of-control liberal judiciary is the worst threat America has faced in 400 years - worse than Nazi Germany, Japan and the Civil War - Robertson didn't back down.
"Yes, I really believe that," he said. "I think they are destroying the fabric that holds our nation together."
Robertson's comments came with a showdown looming in the Senate over seven of President Bush's conservative judicial nominees who have been blocked by Democrat filibusters. Republicans have threatened a "nuclear option" to pass the judges by rewriting Senate rules to stop the filibusters.
Sources told the Daily News that Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist lacks the 50 votes he needs, which could be a blow to his presidential hopes. "I don't think Frist has the votes," a GOP aide said. "He's now in his own corner. If he doesn't have the votes, he's really screwed."
Robertson echoed that sentiment. "I just don't see him as a future President," Robertson said.

Hey, two men having anal sex is far more dangerous than a plane flying into a building.

Yeah, I guess hijackers aren't the only reason to have locks on cockpit doors.

Similarly, spending taxdollars to help senior citizens or hungry children is evil socialism that is "tearing the fabric of society apart", but spending trillions to build a nuclear arsenal is godly and patriotic.
I truly wonder how much LESS like Jesus Christ that piece of human offal known as *Pat Robertson* could be?!?!?!?

Damn...FT you have a fine mind, but it seems to be locked in perpetual bitch mode...I'll ask you the same question I asked one of our most difficult conservative posters...were you born without a sense of humor, or did you have it surgically removed at some point?

A little known skeleton in Robertson's closet is the number of years he spent in the company of Dr. Timothy Leary, (late of West Point) working as a volunteer in the experimentation with the development of long-acting LSD. LSD-LA if you will. Apparently the experiments years ago did not count upon the fact that the researchers, without computers, were unable to accurately determine just how long acting LSD-LA actually was. If he really thinks that he has some type of special bond with the Almighty, then he has been trippin' for all these years.

Forgive me, Vile, if I have a difficult time finding *humor* in anything having to do with a dangerous, powerful, mentally imbalanced political operative like Robertson.
I have a hard time even laughing about Limbaugh, as buffoonish as he is.......the consequences of the power and influence of people like them is just too serious to laugh about.
They are --IMO-- two of the leading agent provacateurs who will help set into motion events that will result in the deaths of millions of people worldwide.

Actually it was more of a general observation, rather than a comment about this specific subject.

Now that's funny! :D

Pre-statement qualifiers:
1. Many people on these boards think 9/11 is just a current event and don't really give a whit about it any longer. I have always disagreed with them. I see the effects of it daily, I think it is important to remember, and we should be showing the films of it weekly.
2. I don't agree with Pat Robertson's points or his final conclusion.
Having said that, please try to read this objectively:
Accept certain premises and his point is well thought out. If three thousand or so Americans perished on September 11th, and this country has already begun "healing" (read "forgetting") what is the effect of September 11th 100 years from now?
Now look at the long term effects of (what Robertson perceives as) a steady, inexorable march toward bad social change. Those effects are long term and difficult to reverse.
Bad points, bad conclusion, but a point well taken.

Mr. Robberson is a wonderful person. He loves God. He loves seeing people go to Heaven.
He is right. Judges in America are like Al Quaida; many of them follow the us Constitution and rule in favor of individuals rather than big powerful lobbyists corps. To the big powerful corps, some judges are like Al Quaida.
Please take it easy on Mr. Robberson.

I believe that the classic Pat Robertson story happened while he was running for President. A hurricane was moving up the east coast and threatening the Virginia coast. The hurricane forecasters had said that it would turn aside at the last moment and spare the coast. Pat Robertson, sensing a photo-op, prayed to god that the coast be spared and claimed credit for the "miracle" when the hurricane did indeed move out to sea.

Check out this clip ... Pat Robertson on the Larry - 'king of right wing spin' show. They thought the cameras were off ... ROTFLMAO
It is painfully obvious that Robertson, King and the broadcasters are right wing shills and homophobes ...
Yes, these people carry the flag for the republican party as they do god's work and lead our once great nation closer and closer to being a theocracy.
