Former Senator Connie Mack, R, Florida, who headed a topheavy commission to study tax reform has turned his report in to the leadership of Congress.
President Bush and the Republican Leadership says there are too many tax deductions and breaks for the middle class and poor. So, they recommend severely cutting those deductions or even eliminating them.
Deductions on the chopping block are: Home mortgage interest deductions, capital gains breaks for home sales, State and local property tax deductions, Medical Expense deduction, to mention a few from the list.
Congress, as part of their tax code reform, will use this report to make their changes in law beginning next month in committee. Democrats are saying this report is a whitewash and vow to fight these changes all the way.
Meanwhile, the Republican led Congress just voted 175 billion dollars, on top of nearly 5 trillion dollars already given away, to the richest corps and individuals, not only in America, but, in the world. Most of whom pay no taxes at all, yet, they wil get huge refunds. Working people get nothing.

Many Republicans who work for a living are finally waking up to what kind of group they are in. Bad company.
