Mr. Bush spent quite a bit of time explaining that something should have been done 10 years ago about the energy crisis. He was only partially correct according to BBC.
The First thing Ron Reagan did when he took office was to eliminate the Syn Fuels Program based on German Technology, which would have made gasoline from coal and other natural and renewable products. First Thing.
The first Syn Fuels Plant was to be built near Morgantown West Virginia and on the very day of his Inauguaration, Mr. Reagan cut funding for it and worked out special deals with the Saudi Family and other powerful brokers of energy. It didnt look that bad then. But, how does it look now? President Reagan was sure a forward thinking man, as is claimed in his biographies.
Go to the Republican backed Energy Bill. If you log onto "Thomas" every bill and passed law is there in detail. You got the facts, there.
All is not lost. Continue to write your Congressmen. Let them know how you feel.
