i'm just curious... why is it that when people POINT OUT differences between blacks and whites that people cry racism? The definition of racism is HATRED for NO reason but the color of their skin....

The point comes up because i was speaking with some gentlemen as i was tending the bar, and the subject came up about black people dominating basketball. I don't know if anyone remembers, but Jimmy The Greek was canned for saying blacks had better natural abilities.. and EVERYONE said he was a racist.... except for the fact that he wasn't one, he just pointed out a difference.

Hell, people say I'm racist because i don't like the "ghetto-thug" culture.... which i don't. It's nothing but lazy, disrespectful, "look at me" wanna-bes..... and it was created by the black culture. In case you hadn't noticed, it has spread over to whites too....

People are just wayyy to sensative on this issue.. it HAS been more than a couple of decades since this all went down right? LOL

The problem being that most people assume that if you say something negative about a certain group, you must think your own group is superior or immune from the same problem.

It seems as many more folks than ever before are looking for any reason at all to play the racist card. "S/He's picking on me because I'm black" is too often a BS dodge in an attempt to shift focus from one individual's abberant behaviors to the individual calling them on it. Way to often that tactic works as the whites back away from confronting the individual.

I believe that once we stop recognizing the differences in others, we shall achieve true enlightenment. You're Hispanic? Thats cool, Im German. Who cares?

Whenever we point out the differences to "celebrate diversity" all we do is isolate people. When we just quietly notice or not even notice at all, then everything runs smoothly.

Also, I agree that people are way too sensitive. Perhaps they fear that their race is inferior???

My friend Cherai and I always make horribly horribly racist comments against each other. Yet we are very close friends. It all stems from the knowlege that none of it is true and it would be a joke to actually believe those things.

The teachings of Jesus refutes the Old Testament ideals that you insist on mentioning.

Maybe you should read the Gospels again and let us know your thoughts. Maybe the "sermon on the mount" in Matthew would be a good place to start.

so why is this about COLOR? you are now just talking about a bunch of immature high schoolers who are taking the money when it is offered. don't blame the kid, blame the money hungry "sport". these kids have talent. they start playing the game at a young age. and they become good at it. damn good. take any kid, of any color anywhere and they actually play the game alot, practice, and they will be as good. you are only as good as the skills you practice decka. many of these kids are from poor families. their acedemic record will barely let them through school so their best bet to get a scholarship from their talent, instead of going into major debt for college. but the teams are nabbing them before they get to college. one person who had no skill or talent was shaq. he's just freakin big and can slam dunk easy. ever see him try to shoot? not worth a shit.
don't see too many dark skinned people playing hockey. and some of them get scholarships to colleges on that skill.

i can see WHY they come into the league ivan... but the fact remains that they are making the NBA worse.....

But all the high school kids are deluting NBA play decka, it also doesnt help , when schools put these guys on pedestals, and put the winning of basketball games ahead of the childs education. i know of teachers who raised the grades of a kid, undeservingly, just so they could play on the team and win. arent we all at fault ? adults start this by wanting to win so badly, hence, why the NBA teams WILL draft a kid. how is that the kids fault. now you are right about one thing, but i blame the parents for that. because the NBA, or NFL money is there, most of these parents dont care if the child is not learning. look at lebron james, he was all but put up for adoption by him mom, until she heard that this kid was great, and was going to make a lot of money, but is that lebrons fault. you want a kid to do the thinking that an adult is suppose to do for them. but when the adults, in the name of money, from the parent to the agent to the scout to the team that drafts him, put money before his true needs, he's the only winner, losing ! and you seem to sound a little more racially angry as you go along, but thats just my opinion.
