Yesterday's greats seem to be vanishing right before our eyes, Reggie as Decka already said is about to call it quits, and I just don't see basketball getting back to how it was in the 90's or 80's. I mean I use to get so exited come playoff time, but know it seems like spring training is better (exaggerating, don't get it twisted). The problem with today's players are that they don't use their fundamental skills, it's all about how you look doing it then how well you do it, like Rick Barry said on the hot seat (ESPN) yesterday, it's all EGO. Plus where the hell did all the rivalries go, Kings vs Laker's, Knicks vs Heat, Bird vs Johnson, Knicks vs Bulls, Reggie (Pacers) vs Knicks, and all the others that kept us glued to the T.V, twisting and turning the antenna for better reception. Now you have people getting paid waaaay toooo much, and waaay higher then their true value, for example A. Houston.

I would say the 2005 season is the best i have seen in a LONG time....

why?

because team basketball is coming around again. Look at who's on top...... Seattle, San Antonio, Phoenix, Detroit, Dallas.... all of these teams do not rely on one guy to get the job done..... Scoring is up, as is the excitement... i have enjoyed this season.

But basketball DID suck ass from about 1999 until 2004..... probably because guys like Macgrady, Iverson, and Carter were jacking up 35 shots a game, and making 10 of them.....

San Antonio along with Greg Popovich has taken over basketball, but they don't seem to get the respect they deserve. Everyone seems to forget about them, who could blame them, the guys are all hard working players, who stray away from controversy and idiotic behaviors, so the media doesn't follow up on them much. Plus like I mentioned above, guys are getting paid too much, that is the one thing that's killing me. Same with the rest of sports.

I think the reason team basketball is back is the rule change to allow zone defense. To beat the zone you have to pass the ball.

whatever it is.... i'm a fan, because i like basketball again....
