View Full Version : Any Guy Shave Their Legs?

I see some guys shave their legs in the summer. I wouldn't do it, but I have been thinking about getting rid of some hair on the back of toes and feet so that it looks more sightly when wearing sandals. Does anyone do anything of this sort?

Nope. God bless my leg hair.

IMO, guys SHOULD shave their leg hair. Or at least their armpit hair. Why is it dictated by society that women should do it and not men? Especially since men's hair is much more thick and unsightly.

Hey, I'd shave pretty much anything if some girlfriend I had wanted to. Until then, I don't care.

Most cyclists shave their legs to avoid the painful mix of road rash, band-aids, and leg hair. Although I do quite a bit of biking, I do not shave. Although my legs are quite sexy anyway.

Swimmers usually shave too.

It's the new thing with the young guys. A few of my friends have kids that do the back and chest waxing. I personally like some hair on my guy but that may just be an habituation.

If he wanted to remove it though I would say go for it. I still think you guys are more pussy-like about having hair ripped out by the roots...:D :D He cringes when I epilate my legs.

Things I shave, wax or trim...

Shave: My belly, butt ;), face, half of my pubes, feet

Wax: Neck, sometimes my belly

Trim: Rest of my pubes and then I use this special leg hair thinner and trimmer so my legs are not hairy.

It's okay, I'm gay. AND all of my straight girlfriends say they wish gay men were straight, because we shave and keep the hair off of our bodies. ;) Maybe some of you should take that advice.

I only shaved my legs once or twice for track but that's about it (and I won't do it again)...

Waxing is right out. I'd shave some things if my wife asked nicely. :)

There is that chemical on tv which you like rub over leave for about 10 minutes and then wipe off the hair.

Then there is obviously electrosis, that would just plain scare me around the crotch area

and how the hell do you shave ya butt? not to be niave here but isnt it pretty hard to see what your doing?

yes, i do believe that it would be. unless you had some mirrors rigged up just for that purpose.

I'd never consider waxing my anything. Pulling off bandaids is hard enough, i wouldn't want that feeling on my whole body.

Does this mean I'm the only guy who actually shaves? ...

Yeah well now that we are relying on MY memory we are both "screwed" 'so to speak'... at some point, I answered a post with a lame reply and you made some smartassed comment like "if you can't do that...then your life isn't worth living..."

and then I made a smartass comment ... It was funny at the time...and all in good humour so I just did a play on that thinking you would remember.... :(

Who says you're going to get one? (KIDDING!!!)

I was thinking about shaving my legs. Or at least trimming them. They're not EXTREMELY hairy but you can totally tell they have hair...I don't know, though...or care.

You apparently are missing the fact that most men enjoy having hair and most women despise it and shave it off, they desire to be hairy. Need proof? well right off the bat Borg and me.

"Most" is inaccurate...in fact the trend now is for men to be hairless. Waxing and shaving for men is huge at spas. Gays have been into for years and so have athletes...now everyone is getting into it.

It is a trend of some men. Very few actually partake in metrosexuality (the new term for a feminine man who is not necessarily gay) and homosexuality is not rampant, despite the fact that your led to believe that by various TV shows and movies.
I really doubt that the behavior of men for thousands of years has completely made a 180 degree turn. Merely a passing trend of a few outcasts. And athletes have begun to do it for performance, swimmers, track runners, etc need less hair to better perform.

No Evakian honest, the men in my circle are all doing hair removal and we are speaking of males in their 40's and 50's. They are not outcasts trust me, they are business men.

Evakian
08-16-2005, 02:16 PM
Them being businessmen would have alot to do with them being metrosexual. Appearance/grooming is more important to their field and they also have more disposable income (pending on business ;)).
My thoughts on this are, its not the mainstream male behavior that soon all shall take part it, thats all.

No one is turning me into THX-1138 :D

okay I get ya now...see, that to me is your average guy (businessman)... :D so by definition we were seeing things from a different angle... but I agree with what you have posted here... I can't see Bud the construction boy shaving... weeeeeeeeeeeeell, wait... if he weight-lifts he will, okay never mind I am gonna shut up now...:p

If that is your standardized definition of an average man, rework it. Not too many men are lawyers and executives attending meetings and busying themselves with the stock market.
The little freaks and wierdos that shave all their parts are not average men, some men groom more than others but as a gender it is not the accepted and normal thing to do.
And lifting weights has no relation to shaving, as it does not affect your performance as it would with a swimmer ("shaves" off .2 seconds per 50m roughly)

Yeah it does... that ape look needs smooth, shiny skin...the guys that build at the gym all shave. And they strut too...

As for your average male, it depends upon who you interact with...and I think also ones age.

08-16-2005, 04:03 PM
All the gyms i've ever been to are full of gorillas lifting weights. Meditteranean genetics leave them with bushels of hair that consume them. Whenever i lift with guys like that i always chuckle. :D

Echo2
08-16-2005, 04:21 PM
Evak - what gyms do you go to? I've been a life long weight lifter and for the most part, weight lifters do shave. It shows the cut of their muscles more. And all professional lifters do it for competition.

Hell, I quit shaving my legs when I turned 50. Just too much trouble and I wouldn't be interested in man that was too prissy to accept it.

I have to admit I do like a hairy chest on men. But arm pit hair is just nasty. Even on men. It holds odor too. EW.

Evakian
08-16-2005, 04:34 PM
Yea professional lifters would shave for competition for aesthetic. But i'm talking average joes down at the nearby Y or Bally.

But arm pit hair is just nasty- Echo2

Armpit hair is the key to my natural powers!!! how else do you think i fly around shooting laser beams out my buttocks? You wont catch me with a razor near my 'pits.
